IIT Hyderabad JRF SRF Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has released a notice for one JRF/SRF position in a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Government of India sponsored project. The project is under DIA-COE IIT (BHU) Varanasi and is titled Indigenous Development of Large Scale (100 kg) Inert Gas Atomiser. This is a purely temporary post and will end with the project.

The project is sanctioned for a total duration of 3 years. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, and it can be extended up to the project duration based on performance. Who Can Apply?

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Qualification: BE/BTech in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• CGPA: Minimum 8 out of 10.

For Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Qualification: ME/MTech/MS in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• CGPA: Minimum 8 out of 10 at both UG and PG level.

Desirable Skills

• GATE: GATE qualification is desirable.
• Research experience: Powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing, microstructural characterization, mechanical behavior, superalloys, advanced materials, modelling, or simulation.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit is 28 years.
• Age relaxation: Reserved category candidates will get relaxation as per Government rules.

Salary

• JRF: Rs. 37,000 per month for the 1st and 2nd year.
• JRF 3rd year: Rs. 42,000 per month.
• SRF: Rs. 42,000 per month.
• HRA: Additional HRA will be paid as per Government of India norms.

The salary is tied to whether you join as JRF or SRF. The post is project-based, so it should not be treated as a permanent institute job.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through shortlisting and interview. No written exam is mentioned in the advertisement.
