College of Defence Management Group C Recruitment 2026 - 8 Posts

College of Defence Management is a Ministry of Defence institution located at Sainikpuri, Secunderabad, Telangana. This recruitment covers four different Group C roles with different qualifications, age limits and skill requirements. The biggest share is for Multi-Tasking Staff with 5 posts, while Driver, Cook and Steno Grade-II have one post each.

Who Can Apply?

Civilian Motor Driver (Ordinary Grade)

• Qualification: 12th class or equivalent from a recognised board or university.
• Licence: Civilian driving licence for heavy driving vehicles is required.
• Experience: You need 2 years of experience in driving heavy vehicles from a recognised organisation or undertaking.

Cook

• Qualification option 1: 12th class or equivalent from a recognised board or university with 2 years of cook experience.
• Qualification option 2: Industrial Training Institute pass certificate as Cook from a recognised institution.

Multi-Tasking Staff

• Qualification: Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised board or institute.
• Work type: Office and training support duties at CDM.

Steno Grade-II

• Qualification: 12th class or equivalent from a recognised board or university.
• Skill test: Dictation for 10 minutes at 80 words per minute, followed by transcription on computer in 50 minutes for English or 65 minutes for Hindi.

Age Limit

• Civilian Motor Driver and Steno Grade-II: 18 to 27 years.
• Cook and Multi-Tasking Staff: 18 to 25 years.
• Government servants: Relaxable up to 40 years for general candidates and up to 45 years for SC/ST candidates as per rules.
• PwBD: Upper age relaxation of 10 years for UR, 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC, subject to the maximum age condition in the notice.
• Ex-servicemen: Military service deduction is allowed as per central government Group C rules.
• Crucial date: Age is counted with reference to the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India.

Salary

• Steno Grade-II: Pay Level 4, Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
• Civilian Motor Driver: Pay Level 2, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
• Cook: Pay Level 2, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
• Multi-Tasking Staff: Pay Level 1, Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month.
• Selected candidates will also get admissible central government allowances as per rules.

Selection Process

CDM will assess applicants through a written test-cum-practical/trade/skill test. The written test standard will match the qualification required for the post, and the tests are stated as qualifying nature.

1. Application scrutiny: CDM checks whether the sealed-envelope application is complete and has the required documents.
2. Written test: The test will match the educational level of the applied post.
3. Practical / trade / skill test: Driver, Cook, MTS and Steno candidates will be assessed as per post requirement.
4. Document verification: Original certificates and eligibility documents will be checked.

How to Apply

1. Prepare the application on A4 size paper in the prescribed format, typed in English or Hindi.
2. Affix a recent passport-size photograph and attach the admit card format as required.
3. Attach self-attested copies of education, age proof, community certificate, disability certificate if any, NOC if you are a government servant, service certificate if ex-serviceman, admit card in duplicate and one self-addressed stamped envelope.
4. Write the post applied for clearly on the top of the sealed envelope.
5. Send the application by ordinary post to The Commandant, College of Defence Management, Sainikpuri, Secunderabad, Telangana State - 500 094.
6. Make sure the application reaches CDM on or before 20 July 2026.
