Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Office of the Dean (Research & Development), IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, has invited applications for 1 Project Assistant position under the DoF-sponsored project “Sustainable Valorization of Kendu Leaves: Development of Biodegradable Alternatives”, led by Principal Investigator G. C. Nayak. The role involves collecting Kendu leaves, processing them into biodegradable products, and testing their mechanical, thermal, and biological stability. The tenure is 6 months, extendable up to one year based on your performance, making this a good entry point into applied research work.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Diploma in Mechanical or Agricultural engineering.
• Desirable: Working knowledge of MS Office and data collection/analysis software is preferred.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 32 years as on 1 January 2026 for UR (unreserved) candidates.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC candidates and women get age relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 20,000 per month.
• No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
