Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is filling two contractual Research Associate positions for its India-Japan Centre at the Noida Campus. The two posts share the same salary and age ceiling but cover different work: one focuses on India-Japan research and academic outreach, while the other covers research coordination, publications, corporate communication and media management.

The initial contract lasts one year. IIML may extend it year by year for a further three years when performance is satisfactory and the institute still needs the role. This is not a route to regular employment, and the selected associates cannot claim absorption into a permanent institute position.

Who Can Apply?

Research Associate - India-Japan Research:

• Qualification: An awarded or submitted Ph.D. from the Japanese Studies Centre of a reputed institute or university in regular mode.
• Master's marks: At least 60% at the Master's level.
• Experience: Previous work as a Research Associate is desirable but not essential.
• Work fit: You should be comfortable with research, publications, seminars, workshops and communication with Japanese partner institutions.

Research Associate - Coordination and Media:

• Qualification: A regular postgraduate degree from a reputed institute or university with at least 60% marks.
• Experience: At least 5 years in relevant work, preferably research, teaching, team coordination, liaison or digital/social media management.
• Language: Excellent written and spoken English.
• Preferred background: Work in an academic or research institution, digital-media handling and digital-marketing tools.

Only Indian citizens can apply. Enter your exact percentage in the form because IIML does not allow rounding. Higher qualifications or stronger experience may be used to limit the number of applicants called for the next stage.

Age Limit

• The maximum age for both posts is 40 years as on 28 August 2026.
• Age relaxation: SC, ST, OBC and PwBD applicants receive relaxation under Central Government rules when they attach the prescribed certificate.

Salary

• Each Research Associate receives a consolidated salary of Rs. 80,000 per month.
• HRA condition: HRA is not admissible when campus accommodation is provided, subject to availability and institute terms.
• Normal hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM for six days a week, with Sunday as the weekly off day.
• Work beyond normal hours or on holidays may be needed, and the notice does not provide extra pay for that work.

Selection Process

The stated selection method is an interview, which IIML may hold online, offline or in several phases. If the number of applications is high, the institute may also add a written test and/or skill test.

2. Written or skill test, if used: The institute may add either test depending on application volume; no syllabus or pattern is published in the notice.
