Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), an Institute of National Importance under the IIM Act of 2017, is looking for an Academic Associate for its Decision Sciences Area. You will work at the IIM Bangalore-Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies in Jigani, Bengaluru, and report to the Chairperson of the Decision Sciences Area.

The role is built for people with strong academic records who plan to do a doctoral programme later and want a career in teaching and research. Think of it as a hands-on apprenticeship inside a top business school — you support faculty members on their research and classes and see academic work from the inside.

The core subject background is a Master's in Statistics or Operations Research or a closely related field such as Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Scientific Computing. An MBA or a PGDM equal to a master's degree from a reputed business school is also considered, so management graduates with a quantitative bent can apply too.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is for one year at first. It can be extended, but only up to a maximum of three years in total.
• Stipend, not salary: You get an all-inclusive monthly stipend; the exact figure within the range depends on your experience.
• Place of work: The post sits at the Jigani campus (Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies), IIMB's undergraduate school.
• Extra duties: You are expected to help with the institute's proctoring duties whenever you are assigned to them.
