Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG) Director Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG) is a premier research institute working in geomagnetism, geophysics, magnetosphere, space and atmospheric sciences. This is a top R&D management post at the institute, not a routine administrative vacancy. The appointment can be through direct recruitment, deputation including short-term contract, or re-employment, depending on the candidate profile and final decision of the competent authority.

IIG research work is spread across observatory and data analysis, upper atmospheric sciences and solid earth geomagnetism. The Director role needs a senior scientist who can connect scientific programmes, laboratory work, observatory data, World Data Centre responsibilities and collaborations with national and international institutions. This makes the post suitable for researchers who have handled both research output and institution-level administration.
