Post-wise Duties

Pathology and Microbiology

You will support timely laboratory diagnosis, check findings, maintain clinical records and communicate urgent results to the treating teams. Your work also includes safe sample handling and following the department's quality procedures.

Radio-diagnosis

You will help deliver imaging-based diagnosis, prepare reports and coordinate with clinicians when a case needs urgent attention. The work requires careful documentation and consistent patient-safety practice.

Emergency Medicine

You will assess and stabilise patients, coordinate referrals and support round-the-clock emergency care. Doctors entering through the relaxed MBBS route are considered only when suitably qualified postgraduate candidates are unavailable.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial ad-hoc appointment is for 89 days or until a regular appointee joins, whichever happens first. Extension depends on the applicable Health and Family Welfare Department rules and satisfactory work and conduct.
• Registration: Valid DMC registration is needed by the interview date, subject to the limited provision stated for candidates awaiting postgraduate qualification registration.
• Immediate joining: Selected doctors must be ready to join within seven days of the offer or the offer may be cancelled.
• Wait list: IGH may keep a panel for future openings for six months or until a fresh selection process begins, whichever is earlier.
• Medical fitness: Appointment remains provisional until educational records, antecedents, DMC registration and medical fitness are checked.
• Attendance cost: No TA or DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Prior employment: Doctors already working on an ad-hoc or regular basis must bring a no-objection certificate from their present employer.
