About This Job

ICMR-NIHR Bhubaneswar is hiring 12 project staff for the DRISTI Bharat Tribal Health Observatory project. If you are a doctor, life science graduate, IT professional, or a commerce graduate, you can walk in for the interview. The ICMR-National Institute of Health Research (ICMR-NIHR), Bhubaneswar has released Advertisement No. ICMR-NIHR BB/Estt-Proj-Rect/189/2026-27 for engaging 12 non-institutional project staff under the DRISTI Bharat Tribal Health Observatory project. Who Can Apply?

Junior Consultant (Medical) - 3 Posts

  • Qualification: You need an MBBS or BDS or BVSc or equivalent degree in the relevant subject.
  • Experience: At least 6 years of post-qualification experience with proven competency in the area of specialization.

Young Professional-I (Public Health) - 6 Posts

  • Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Life Science Subjects or Public Health.

Young Professional-II (IT) - 1 Post

  • Qualification: Post Graduate in Technology / IT / Computer Science.
  • Experience: 3 years of work experience.

Young Professional-I (Admin) - 1 Post

  • Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with minimum 55% marks from a recognised university or college.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.

Young Professional-I (Accounts) - 1 Post

  • Qualification: B.Com / BBA with minimum 55% marks from a recognised university or college.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.

Note: Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government Department or Organisation are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

  • Junior Consultant (Medical): Maximum 50 years
  • Young Professional-II (IT): Maximum 35 years
  • Young Professional-I (all three posts): Maximum 30 years
  • Cut-off Date: The age limit is calculated as on the date of the walk-in interview for each post.
  • Age Relaxation: Applicable as per ICMR guidelines for reserved categories.

Salary

  • Junior Consultant (Medical): Rs. 80,000 per month (consolidated)
  • Young Professional-II (IT): Rs. 42,000 per month (consolidated)
  • Young Professional-I (Public Health, Admin, Accounts): Rs. 35,000 per month (consolidated)
  • The emoluments shown are consolidated. No additional allowances are paid.
  • Benefits like Provident Fund, Pension, LTC, Medical claim, and staff quarters are not admissible to project human resource positions.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a single-stage walk-in interview:

  1. Document Verification: Original certificates must be verified by ICMR-NIHR Bhubaneswar before the interview. Only candidates fulfilling age, qualification, and experience criteria are allowed to appear.
  2. Walk-in Interview: Selection is based purely on your performance in the interview before the Interview Board.
  3. Shortlisting: If there are too many candidates, shortlisting will be done on the basis of educational qualification and experience. A written test or assignment may also be conducted before the interview if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the DRISTI Bharat Tribal Health Observatory project at ICMR-NIHR Bhubaneswar
  • Handle the technical, medical, public health, IT, administrative, or financial duties assigned for your specific post
  • Conduct field studies, data collection, and community health surveys among tribal populations (for Medical and Public Health roles)
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation
  • Coordinate with senior scientists, principal investigators, and team members
  • Follow ICMR research protocols, ethics guidelines, and project timelines
  • Prepare progress reports, publications, and presentations as required by the project
