ICMR-Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (ICMR-BMHRC), under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has invited applications for the post of Medical Officer on Contractual Basis. The appointment is initially for one year, extendable based on performance. Retired doctors from Central and State Government services are also eligible to apply. Candidates with three or more years of experience will be given preference during the interview.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• A recognized MBBS degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) included in the First, Second, or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956)
• Completion of compulsory rotating internship is mandatory
• Valid registration with NMC / MCI / State Medical Council (M.P.)

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Retired doctors from Central/State Government services who wish to be empanelled on a contractual basis may also apply
• Candidates currently employed in Central/State Government must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of the interview
• Experience of 3 or more years will be given preference but is not mandatory

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 70 years as on 17 April 2026
• No minimum age is specified

Salary

• Fixed monthly salary: Rs. 1,00,000 per month
• Note: Contractual appointees are not entitled to DA, HRA, or other allowances available to regular government employees
• Tax will be deducted at source (TDS) on a monthly basis

• SC / ST / PwD (Persons with Disability): No fee
• Payment mode: Demand Draft (DD) issued after the notification date, drawn in favour of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, Bhopal, payable at Bhopal, on a scheduled bank in India

Selection Process

Selection is done through a Walk-in Interview. No written exam is required.

1. Walk-in Interview: Attend on 17 April 2026 between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM at Conference Room, Block-VI, BMHRC, Bhopal. Candidates arriving after 10:00 AM will not be considered.
2. Merit-based Shortlisting: The competent authority may shortlist candidates based on higher qualifications or years of experience — not every eligible candidate is guaranteed an interview call. Preference is given to those with 3 or more years of experience.
3. Document Verification: All original documents must be presented at the interview along with self-attested copies and a recent passport-size photograph.
4. Medical Examination: The selected candidate will be sent to the designated medical authority before joining, subject to physical fitness clearance from the competent medical board.

Note: Vacancies may increase or decrease at the time of the interview at the discretion of the competent authority. The decision of the Director, BMHRC, Bhopal will be final.

• Examine and treat patients in the assigned department as directed by the HOD/Director, BMHRC
• Maintain accurate patient records, case histories, and treatment notes
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient progress throughout the course of treatment
• Assist in emergency cases, outpatient clinics, and inpatient ward management
• Coordinate with nursing staff, paramedical teams, and senior consultants for patient care
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control guidelines, and standard treatment procedures
• Participate in clinical meetings, rounds, and any research activities assigned by the department
