ICFRE-Forest Research Institute (FRI) General Physician Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, which functions under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) — an autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change — has invited applications from doctors for 1 Allopathic Doctor (General Physician) post at its New Forest Hospital. This is a walk-in interview — there is no online application process and no separate written exam. Selected doctors must reside on the FRI campus, and the post is engaged purely on a contractual and temporary basis, initially for a period of one year which can be extended annually. Your appointment will be provisional and subject to verification of your educational qualifications and certificates, so make sure your documents are in order before the interview. The Director, FRI reserves the right not to fill the post, and the number of vacancies may be increased or decreased without prior notice.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MBBS degree from a recognised Indian institution/university, with a permanent registration certificate from the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council.
• Experience: At least 2 years of work experience as a General Physician in a government, semi-government, or recognised hospital, as on the date of interview. Your experience certificate should clearly mention your joining date and relieving date so it can be verified.
• Desirable: An M.D./M.S. degree in the Allopathic system.
• Note: If the Hindi and English versions of the advertisement differ in any way, the English version will be treated as the standard text.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 50 years old as on 9 March 2026.
• There is no separate relaxation mentioned for reserved categories for this walk-in post.

Salary

• Experience of 2 to less than 5 years: Rs. 59,500 per month + Dearness Allowance as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• Experience of 5 to less than 10 years: Rs. 65,000 per month + Dearness Allowance as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• Experience of 10 years or more: Rs. 75,400 per month + Dearness Allowance as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will get residential accommodation in the New Forest Campus at the normal house licence fee, since staying on campus is mandatory for this post.
• You are entitled to 2 days of leave per month only, with no leave encashment. LTC, EPF/GPF, and the Employees Group Insurance Scheme do not apply to this contractual post.
• You will get medical facility at the New Forest Hospital for yourself only — medical reimbursement from the Institute is not available.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection is through a walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Bring all your original certificates and a bio-data report to the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) Cell office by 9:30 AM on 24 July 2026. Officials will check your MBBS degree, registration certificate, and experience certificates against your application.
2. Interview: The interview is held the same day, 24 July 2026, starting at 11:00 AM, at the FRI Board Room, Main Building, Dehradun.

If you accept the post, the Director, FRI can end your contract by giving you one month's notice, and you can end it yourself by giving two months' notice. Being absent from duty without permission will automatically end your contract, with no pay for the days you were away.
