ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (ICAR-IVRI), Izatnagar has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position at the Division of Medicine, under a CCRH-funded project titled "Therapeutic evaluation of Apis mellifica and Lycopodium in canine chronic kidney failure". Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview — there is no written exam, which makes this a fast-moving opportunity for candidates who are ready with their documents. ICAR-IVRI is one of India's leading veterinary research institutes, and working here as a JRF gives you direct exposure to clinical veterinary research, something that is valuable if you plan to pursue a PhD or a scientist-level career later. The engagement is on a contractual basis, co-terminus with the project, for a maximum period of 36 months. Postgraduates in veterinary science, animal science, or life sciences who are interested in clinical veterinary research should attend.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Post Graduate degree (including an integrated PG degree) in Basic Biological Science / Life Sciences, or a Bachelor's/Postgraduate professional degree preferably in Veterinary Science or Animal Science & Allied fields, from a recognized institute or university.
• Entry Requirement: You must have qualified through the CSIR-UGC NET or GATE examination, or a national-level exam conducted by DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISER.
• Preferred Experience: Experience in animal health management, lab animal handling, haemato-biochemical analysis, and computer-based data management will strengthen your candidature.

Since this is a clinical veterinary study on kidney disease in dogs, any hands-on exposure you have had to canine case work, blood/urine sample analysis, or veterinary clinical pathology during your degree should be highlighted clearly in your bio-data — it is directly relevant to this project.

Age Limit

• You should be under 35 years of age.

Salary

• Selected candidates get Rs. 37,000 per month as base emoluments, plus 20% HRA (Rs. 7,400), as per CCRH guidelines.
• This totals to Rs. 44,400 per month.
• The engagement is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project (or your performance), for a maximum of 36 months.
• You are eligible for casual leave and RH (restricted holidays) as per project recruitment rules, but not other types of leave.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test. You will be selected purely through a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 28 July 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Committee Room, Modular Laboratory Building, 1st Floor, Division of Medicine, ICAR-IVRI, Izatnagar.

Bring your recent bio-data, original documents, and experience certificates, along with self-attested photocopies of your mark sheets and degree certificates, and 3 recent passport-size photographs. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. The engagement can be terminated by the Principal Investigator with 1 month's prior notice, without assigning a reason, so read the terms carefully before joining.
