ICAR-IIGR SRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Indian Institute of Groundnut Research (ICAR-IIGR), Junagadh is hiring a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for its project on enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools. The institute was set up in 1979 as the first crop-commodity research centre of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), with the goal of lifting groundnut productivity.

The fellowship is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. It suits a postgraduate or PhD holder in plant or agricultural biotechnology who wants lab experience in modern crop genome editing, gene cloning and tissue culture work at Junagadh, Gujarat.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: One year or until the project ends, whichever comes first. There is no assurance of extension or renewal.
• No regular job: Finishing the project gives you no claim to a regular post at the institute or at ICAR.
• Termination: The institute can end the engagement at any time without notice or reason; failing to carry out assigned duties or to follow discipline rules also ends the contract under ICAR rules.
• Fair play: Canvassing in any form, or giving false information at any stage, leads to immediate disqualification.
