ICAR-CIRCOT Young Professional-I Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (CIRCOT), Mumbai, has released a walk-in interview notification for 4 Young Professional-I posts under three different projects: Development and Techno-Commercial Analysis of Agro-biomass Based Torrefied Pellets (Nagpur), QEID Project (Mumbai and Coimbatore), and MPD Project (Mumbai). The selection is purely on contract basis for one year, extendable on satisfactory performance. Freshers with the right qualification can apply.

Vacancy Breakdown by Project

• YP-I (Agro-biomass / Torrefied Pellets): 1 post at Nagpur
• YP-I (QEID Project): 2 posts at Mumbai and Coimbatore
• YP-I (MPD Project): 1 post at Mumbai

Who Can Apply?

For YP-I (Agro-biomass Project, Nagpur):

• Qualification: Graduation with at least 60% marks in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, OR diploma holders in relevant agricultural sciences, engineering or technology
• Desirable: Knowledge of handling equipment related to chemical analysis of agro-biomass samples, sample collection, data handling and analysis

For YP-I (QEID Project, Mumbai & Coimbatore):

• Qualification: Graduate degree in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, OR diploma in relevant agricultural sciences, engineering or technology
• Desirable: Lab experience in testing cotton fibre, yarn and fabric parameters (count, strength, elongation, twist, pilling, abrasion, EPI, PPI, GSM); handling of testing instruments; working knowledge of computers/internet

For YP-I (MPD Project, Mumbai):

• Qualification: Graduate degree in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Agricultural Sciences or Mechanical Engineering
• Desirable: Working knowledge of computers/internet and handling of knitting machines and spinning

Age Limit

• Age must be between 21 and 45 years
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PH) as per government rules

Salary

• A consolidated pay of Rs. 30,000 per month will be paid to the selected Young Professional-I
• Income tax will be deducted at source as per prevailing rules
• TA/DA admissible for official tours as per ICAR rules. No TA/DA for attending the interview

Selection Process

Selection is based on walk-in interview only:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 21 May 2026. YP-I (Agro-biomass) and YP-I (QEID) interviews start at 11:00 AM. YP-I (MPD) interview starts at 2:30 PM.
2. Document Verification: Original certificates of age, qualification, experience and testimonials must be produced at the interview.

The engagement is purely contractual and does not constitute a regular job or appointment in ICAR.

• Carry out laboratory work for testing of cotton fibre, yarn and fabric parameters as per national and international standards
• Handle chemical analysis of agro-biomass samples and torrefied pellets for power plant applications
• Operate testing instruments, knitting machines and spinning equipment in the project lab
• Collect samples, record observations and maintain proper data files for the assigned project
• Assist senior scientists in research activities, trials and experiments
• Prepare reports, presentations and data summaries when required
• Follow institute rules, safety guidelines and standards of conduct during the engagement
