The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released Advertisement No. 01/2026/HRD/BHRS/07 to fill 129 Branch In-Charge posts under its Branch Human Resource Scheme 2022. These posts are spread across five Regional Councils — Central, Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western India. ICAI is the world's largest professional accounting body, so this is a stable job with good pay and central-level benefits. This role is a strong fit for experienced graduates who are good at administration, coordination and team management. As a Branch In-Charge, you would run the day-to-day working of an ICAI branch and support its members and students.

Vacancy Breakdown by Region

• Central India Regional Council (CIRC): 42 posts
• Western India Regional Council (WIRC): 31 posts
• Southern India Regional Council (SIRC): 29 posts
• Northern India Regional Council (NIRC): 20 posts
• Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC): 7 posts

You can apply for one region and give three branch location preferences within that region, no matter which branch category they fall under. The total across all regions is 129 posts.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be a Graduate from a recognised University.
• Experience: For Category I, II and III branches you need at least 5 years of work experience. For Category IV, V and VI branches you need at least 3 years of work experience (as on 30 June 2026).
• Skills: Good spoken and written English, proficiency in MS Office, and strong managerial, administrative, relationship-management and problem-solving skills.

Age Limit

• You should be between 27 and 40 years old as on 30 June 2026.

Salary

The pay depends on the category of the branch you are posted to. The approximate yearly compensation (CTC) is:

• Category-I branches: Rs. 7.45 lakh per year (about Rs. 62,000 per month)
• Category-II branches: Rs. 6.33 lakh per year
• Category-III branches: Rs. 5.59 lakh per year
• Category-IV branches: Rs. 4.84 lakh per year
• Category-V & VI branches: Rs. 4.10 lakh per year (about Rs. 34,000 per month)

The pay includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and National Pension System (NPS). You also get Leave Travel Concession, Gratuity and other benefits as per ICAI service conditions. The branch category is decided by the member strength of each branch under the BHRS-2022.

Selection Process

ICAI will shortlist candidates based on their qualification and experience. Just meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee a call for the next stage.

2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
3. Document Verification: You must bring your original documents at the time of the interview.

• Manage the overall administrative and operational working of the ICAI branch.
• Coordinate with the Managing Committee and stakeholders to run branch activities smoothly and on time.
• Handle and resolve grievances of ICAI members and students linked to the branch.
• Lead, supervise and motivate branch staff through work allocation, training and performance monitoring.
• Ensure the branch follows all policies and guidelines issued by the Head Office.
• Use branch resources and budgets wisely to meet organisational goals.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and presentations on branch operations and performance.
• Track branch performance and suggest ways to improve service delivery.
