IAF Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Recruitment 2026

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is hiring unmarried men as Agniveervayu Non-Combatant under the Agnipath Scheme, Intake 01/2027, for the Hospitality and Housekeeping Streams. If you have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognised board, you can apply offline by post. The last date to submit your application is 17 August 2026. Indian Air Force (IAF) Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Recruitment 2026 - Intake 01/2027

The Indian Air Force has released Intake 01/2027 for Agniveervayu Non-Combatant posts under the Agnipath Scheme, covering the Hospitality Stream (cooking, kitchen management, food service) and the Housekeeping Stream (cleaning, gardening, laundry, tailoring and related maintenance work). Only unmarried male candidates can apply, and applications are accepted at over 100 designated Air Force stations across India. There is no age relaxation shown in this notification beyond the standard date-of-birth block, so make sure you check your eligibility carefully before applying. Class 10 pass candidates looking for a stable career in the Indian Air Force with fixed pay, allowances and a lump-sum exit package should apply before the deadline.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) or an equivalent examination from a Board recognised by the Central/State/UT Government.
• Gender & Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. You must give an undertaking not to marry during the 4-year engagement period.
• Medical Standards: Minimum height of 152 cm, minimum chest expansion of 5 cm, weight proportionate to height and age, and visual acuity of 6/36 (correctable to 6/9) in each eye. Corneal surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable.
• Hearing: You should be able to hear a forced whisper from 6 metres with each ear separately.
• Dental: You need healthy gums and a minimum of 14 dental points; dental implants are not accepted.

Age Limit

• You should be born between 1 January 2005 and 1 July 2009 (both dates included).
• If you clear all stages of selection, your upper age limit as on the date of enrolment should be 22 years.

Salary

• You will get a starting Agniveer package of Rs. 30,000 per month in the 1st year, rising to Rs. 33,000 in the 2nd year, Rs. 36,500 in the 3rd year and Rs. 40,000 in the 4th year.
• You will also get Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances, ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per existing rules.
• On completion of your 4-year term, you will receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package of approximately Rs. 10.04 lakh (your own contribution plus a matching government contribution, tax-free).
• You will not need to contribute to any Provident Fund, and there is no gratuity or pension entitlement under this scheme.

Physical Standards

• Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152 cm.
• Chest: Minimum range of expansion is 5 cm.
• Weight: Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.
• PFT-I (Run): 1.6 km run to be completed within 7 minutes (relaxed in high-altitude areas).
• PFT-II: 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats, each within 1 minute.

Selection Process

The selection process has four phases:

1. Phase I - Written Test: Common for both streams. General English (15 marks) and General Knowledge (15 marks) at Class 10 level, total 30 marks. You need a minimum of 5 marks in each subject and at least 50% overall (15/30) to qualify.
2. Phase II - Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Qualifying in nature. Includes a height check (min 152 cm), a 1.6 km run in 7 minutes (PFT-I), followed by 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats (PFT-II).
3. Phase III - Stream Suitability Test (SST): Qualifying test that checks your willingness and aptitude for tasks in your chosen stream — cooking and kitchen work for Hospitality, or cleaning, gardening and tailoring-related tasks for Housekeeping. Unwillingness to perform any assigned task leads to disqualification.
4. Phase IV - Medical Examination: Conducted by the Air Force Medical team as per IAF standards, including blood tests, urine tests, chest X-ray and ECG.

How to Apply

1. Go to the official IAF recruitment portal at iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in.
2. Download the blank Application Form and instructions from the 'Agniveervayu Non-Combatant' tab.
3. Fill in the application form carefully by hand as per the given format.
4. Attach your Class 10 marksheet and passing certificate, a recent passport-size photograph (holding a name slate), and a self-addressed envelope with a Rs. 10 stamp.
5. Send the completed application by normal post or drop it in the drop box at any one of the listed IAF stations near you, so it reaches on or before 17 August 2026.

This is an offline application process. Applications received after the due date, or not in the prescribed format, will be rejected.

• Wash and iron clothes, and handle tailoring or leather repair tasks as assigned (Housekeeping Stream)
• Follow all safety and hygiene protocols laid down by the Indian Air Force
• Support day-to-day station operations as directed by superior officers
• Undergo specific job training as allotted based on your stream
