Howrah Court Karmabandhu Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Court of the District and Sessions Judge, Howrah (English Department) has issued Employment Notification No. 01-2026 dated 15 May 2026 for 2 part-time Karmabandhu (Sweeper) posts. The appointment is purely on contractual basis for one year with services to be utilised at the Howrah Court premises in West Bengal. This recruitment is based on Letter No. 277-JD/X dated 31 October 2025 from the Joint Secretary, Government of West Bengal.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: You must have passed Class VIII from any school under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or an equivalent Board recognised by the State or Central Government.
• Nationality: You must be a citizen of India.
• Residential Status: You must be a resident of Howrah.
• Physical Fitness: You must possess a good physique and have the physical, mental, and technical capability to carry out the required work.
• Other: You must file an affidavit stating you have no pending case in any establishment under the Howrah Judgeship (including Amta and Uluberia sub-divisions) at the time of interview.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 01 January 2026.

Salary

• Consolidated salary: Rs. 5,000 per month.
• Tenure: One year on contract basis (yearly renewable).
• No other claim or allowance will be entertained. Deductions, if any, will be as per government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a walk-in interview:

1. Application Submission: Submit the duly filled physical application in duplicate by 10 June 2026.
2. Shortlist Publication: Names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the official website and the Howrah Court notice board on 16 June 2026.
3. Walk-in Interview: Conducted on 20 June 2026 at 11:00 AM for 30 marks at the Howrah Court premises.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates regarding age, qualification, residence, and other documents will be verified before the interview.

How to Apply

1. Download the Karmabandhu application form from the Howrah Court website at howrah.dcourts.gov.in.
2. Fill in the form in duplicate without any overwriting or white fluid corrections.
3. Attach self-attested copies of all supporting documents (age proof, qualification, residence proof, etc.).
4. Submit the physical application in duplicate at the Office of the District Judge, Howrah (English Department) Court before 10 June 2026, 1:00 PM.
5. Applications received by post or any other mode (other than physical submission) will be summarily rejected.
6. Collect the admit card/interview slip from the office one hour before the interview on 20 June 2026.
7. Bring two recent passport-size photographs and one original photo ID (Aadhaar/Driving Licence/Passport/Voter ID/PAN Card) on the interview day.

• Sweep and clean assigned court premises, corridors, courtrooms, and washrooms
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards across the Howrah Court complex

• Report damaged fixtures, broken fittings, or sanitation issues to the supervisor
• Follow court rules, timings, and instructions from the Recruitment Committee
