Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited, has released Vacancy Notification No. HCSL/HR/RECTT/CONT/2026-27/4 for 1 Supervisor (HR) post on a contract basis at its Howrah unit. The contract runs for up to 5 years, and your posting will mainly be at Hooghly CSL, Howrah. However, since the appointment carries an obligation to serve wherever HCSL needs you, you may be transferred to other Hooghly CSL units, project sites, or even on-board ships anywhere in India or abroad, depending on project requirements. Candidates with strong HR, labour welfare, or contract labour management experience should apply.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Arts (other than Fine/Performing Arts), Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, Social Work, or Business Administration with at least 60% marks from a recognized university.
  • Experience: You need a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in human resources, labour welfare, contract labour management, office work, recruitment activities, or maintenance of files/registers/records in a public, private, or commercial organization.
  • Experience proof: If you are currently employed, you must submit your Appointment Order/Offer Letter and latest pay slip as proof; for past employment, submit an experience certificate showing your dates of joining and relieving.
  • Desirable: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP.
  • Reservation: Government of India directives on reservation apply to this post.

Age Limit

  • You should not be older than 45 years as on 31 July 2026 (born on or after 1 August 1981).
  • Age Relaxation: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India guidelines.
  • After all relaxations, the age limit cannot exceed 55 years.
  • PwBD: Reservation applies as per Government of India guidelines for candidates with a minimum of 40% disability, supported by a valid disability certificate.

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 40,650 per month in the 1st year, rising to Rs. 41,490 (2nd year), Rs. 42,355 (3rd year), Rs. 43,246 (4th year), and Rs. 44,164 (5th year).
  • You will also get Contributory Provident Fund, Medical Insurance, and Accident Insurance coverage as per HCSL policy.

  • General / OBC: Rs. 300 (non-refundable, plus bank charges)
  • SC / ST / PwBD: No fee
  • Payment mode: Online (Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking), from 10 July 2026 to 31 July 2026. No other payment mode is accepted.

Selection Process

Selection has two phases:

  1. Phase I - Written Test: Objective Type Test (40 questions/40 marks in 45 minutes) covering General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude (5 questions each) plus 20 Discipline-related questions. Followed by a Descriptive Type Test (40 marks, 90 minutes) on discipline-related topics for shortlisted candidates.
  2. Document Verification: Only candidates who clear the Objective Test and meet the notified eligibility requirements are called for Certificate Verification.
  3. Phase II - PowerPoint Presentation: A 10-minute presentation (20 marks) on your work experience, held at Hooghly CSL, Howrah, or a location decided by HCSL.

Final merit is based on your total marks across Phase I and Phase II. In case of a tie, marks in the discipline-related part of the Objective Test decide the rank, followed by seniority in age.
