Selection Process
The selection follows a three-stage process. First, you will appear for CBT-I (screening exam with 60 marks, 75 minutes). Based on CBT-I merit, candidates are shortlisted at 20 times the number of vacancies for the Physical Endurance Test. PET is qualifying only -- you either pass or fail, no marks. Those who clear PET move to CBT-II (final exam, 60-80 marks depending on post). Your final merit is based entirely on CBT-II performance. For Range Forest Officer, CBT-II carries 80 marks with a 100-minute duration.
Preparation Tips
- Focus on English and Comprehension -- it carries the highest weightage (30 marks in CBT-I)
- Konkani language section is crucial -- you need minimum 4 out of 10 marks to qualify, so do not ignore it
- Start physical training early -- running, long jump, and endurance walking are part of PET for most posts
- Study General History of Goa / General Geography of Goa for CBT-II (20 marks) depending on your post
- Practice Reasoning and Numerical Ability -- these are common across all posts (10 marks each)

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply for multiple posts in the same application?
You need to apply separately for each post. However, for posts 2-14, CBT-I is common -- you only appear once, and your score is considered for all posts you applied for.
Is there negative marking in the GSSC exam?
No, there is no negative marking in either CBT-I or CBT-II.
What is the minimum passing mark in Konkani?
You must score at least 4 out of 10 marks in the Konkani language section. Candidates who fail to meet this threshold will not be considered for further evaluation.
What is the cut-off date for age and qualification?
The cut-off date for determining eligibility (age, qualification, experience) is the last date of application, i.e., 13 March 2026.

- Conduct forest surveys and manage forest resources (Range Forest Officer/Round Forester)
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Secondary School Certificate (SSC / 10th Pass) from a recognized Board for most posts. Higher Secondary Certificate (12th Pass) for Round Forester and Platoon Commander. Bachelor's Degree in Science for Range Forest Officer.
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge of Marathi. NCC training/Home Guards and Civil Defence Training for Platoon Commander. NCC Certificate for Police Constable posts (bonus marks: 3 for C Certificate, 2 for B Certificate, 1 for A Certificate).
Required Skills
Knowledge of Konkani (mandatory for all posts). Valid driving license for Heavy/Light vehicles with 2 years experience (for Police Constable Driver). ITI Certificate in Diesel Mechanic/Fitter trade (for Constable Greaser). ITI Certificate as Electrician (for Constable Electrician). Swimming proficiency (for Constable Greaser, Constable Electrician, Lascar).
