Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board (GMDWSB) is recruiting a Chief Technical Officer - Sewerage for the Project Implementation Agency of the JICA-assisted Guwahati Sewerage Project. This contractual engagement is based at the Managing Director’s office in Kharghuli, Guwahati, Assam. The role sits within the board’s technical leadership and covers sewerage projects alongside assigned water-supply work.

The Government of Assam established the board to improve drinking-water services and wastewater management in the Guwahati metropolitan area. The sewerage project is part of that wider public-service setting, with infrastructure intended to improve how the city handles sewage and wastewater.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: You join for an initial period of 11 months. Renewal depends on your performance and whether the post is still needed.
• Employer’s notice: The employer may end the agreement with 30 days’ notice or one month’s pay in advance.
• Resignation: You may leave after giving one month’s notice or refunding one month’s pay under the terms of reference.
• Early termination: Misconduct, incorrect reporting, unsatisfactory performance or negligence can lead to termination at any time.
• Travel costs: You will not receive travelling or daily allowance for attending the interview. Plan your visit with this condition in mind.
• Conduct: Trying to influence the recruitment directly or indirectly can disqualify you.
• Schedule changes: The authority can postpone or cancel the interview without giving a reason. Announcements, addenda and corrections will appear on the board’s website.

• Lead technical planning, design, construction and commissioning of sewerage projects.
• Review project reports, estimates, drawings and specifications for sewer networks, pumping stations and treatment plants.
• Monitor project quality, scope, cost and progress, and recommend corrective action.
• Coordinate engineers, project units and multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Review design changes and technical proposals within delegated powers.
