GIPMER Senior Resident Pathology Recruitment 2026: Overview

Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (GIPMER), a Government of NCT of Delhi institute on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, New Delhi, is holding an interview for Senior Residents in its Pathology Department. These are ad hoc posts that fill the gap until regular residents join, so the work is short-term but gives you senior residency experience at a large teaching hospital.

If you hold a postgraduate degree or diploma in Pathology and are registered with, or have applied to, the Delhi Medical Council, this one is worth a look. The number of posts is only indicative and may change by interview day.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is for 44 days, or until the regular incumbents join, or as the Health and Family Welfare Department orders — whichever comes first.
• Residency Scheme: Your appointment and service are governed by the Residency Scheme.
• Quick joining: You may have to join within 3 days of the offer letter being issued.
• DMC registration: Show your DMC certificate with the PG qualification before joining; if your registration is still pending, you can join provisionally on showing the DMC fee receipt.
• Medical fitness: The appointment depends on a medical fitness check and verification of your certificates.
• Waiting list: A separate panel of waitlisted candidates will be prepared, and the posts may be filled in phases.
• No TA/DA: You will not get travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
• Jurisdiction: Any legal dispute falls only under the courts of Delhi/New Delhi.

Application Submission Notes

Download the application form (Annexure-I) from the institute website gbpant.delhigovt.nic.in, fill it in, and hand it in at the Academic Cell, 5th Floor, D-Block, GIPMER before 4:00 PM on the closing day.

Pay the fee either in cash at the cashier in the GIPMER Accounts Branch or by demand draft from a nationalised bank in favour of the Medical Superintendent, G.B. Pant Hospital, payable at New Delhi. Write your name and the post applied for on the back of the demand draft.

On interview day, report to the Pathology Department, GIPMER by 11:00 AM with your original documents and self-attested photocopies. If that day turns out to be a holiday, or the interviews run over, they continue on the next working day.
