Who Can Apply?

Qualifications are as per the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022 issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

For Professor

• Qualification: Post graduate MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject, OR MSc (Medical Microbiology) with PhD, OR MSc (Medical Pharmacology) with PhD
• Experience: 3 years as Associate Professor in a recognized medical institution
• Research: At least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor (must be among first 3 authors)
• Must have completed Basic Course in Biomedical Research and Medical Education

For Associate Professor

• Qualification: Post graduate MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject, OR MSc with PhD (for Microbiology/Pharmacology)
• Experience: 4 years as Assistant Professor in a recognized institution (5 years if appointed directly in a government medical institution)
• Research: At least 2 research publications after becoming Assistant Professor
• Must have completed Basic Course in Biomedical Research

For Assistant Professor

• Qualification: Post graduate MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject, OR MSc with PhD (for Microbiology/Pharmacology)
• Experience: 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized medical institution
• Note: Tutor and Demonstrator experience with a PG degree or MSc + PhD is considered equivalent to Senior Resident experience.

For Emergency Medicine (Special Qualification)

• Academic Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Anaesthesia, Respiratory Medicine, General Surgery, or Orthopaedics
• Teaching and research experience requirements are higher — Professor needs 3 years as Associate Professor with 4 research publications, Associate Professor needs 4 years as Assistant Professor with 2 publications

Retired Professors/Faculty from Government Institutes and Defence Personnel may also apply as per NMC Guidelines.

Age Limit

• Age limit is as per NMC Guidelines
• Age Relaxation: Reservation and age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be as per Uttar Pradesh (UP) Government rules

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 2,20,000 per month (consolidated, contractual)
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,60,000 per month (consolidated, contractual)
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,20,000 per month (consolidated, contractual)

These are consolidated contractual salaries. Amounts are fixed and may not include separate DA/HRA allowances.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit and as per NMC guidelines. The process may include:

• Teach assigned subjects to undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) students as per the approved curriculum
• Conduct clinical rounds, supervise patient care, and guide residents in the assigned department
• Prepare lesson plans, study materials, question papers, and conduct examinations
• Conduct research and publish papers in peer-reviewed medical journals
• Supervise dissertations and research projects of postgraduate students
• Participate in departmental academic activities, CMEs, and conferences
• Handle administrative duties assigned by the Director and Head of Department
• Follow NMC regulations and institutional guidelines in all academic and clinical activities
