Inaugurated in 1960 as India's first agricultural university, GBPUAT played a key role in India's Green Revolution and is spread across a sprawling campus of over 10,000 acres at Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. GBPUAT's College of Fisheries has released an advertisement to engage 5 teaching personnel on a purely contractual and temporary basis for the 1st semester of 2026-27. One post is for Human Development and Family Studies / Resource Management and Consumer Science / Home Science, while the remaining four posts are for Fisheries Science and related subjects. Selection is entirely through walk-in interview — there is no written exam. Who Can Apply?

For Sl.No. 01 (Human Development / Home Science):

  • Qualification: Doctorate degree in Human Development and Family Studies / Resource Management and Consumer Science / Home Science, OR Master's Degree in the same with at least 60% marks.
  • NET Requirement: Compulsory for candidates holding only a Master's degree.

For Sl.No. 02 to 05 (Fisheries Science & related subjects):

  • Qualification: Master's degree with at least 60% marks in the subject concerned or a related field, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries Science.
  • NET/SLET Requirement: Compulsory for Master's degree holders, along with at least one publication in a NAAS-rated (4 or above) refereed journal.
  • NET Exemption: Waived for candidates with a Ph.D (with course work) and at least two full-length NAAS-rated (4 or above) publications.
  • Relaxation: 5% marks relaxation at Graduate and Master's level for SC/ST/Disabled (physically and visually) candidates.
  • Candidates possessing B.F.Sc. and a Master's degree in Fisheries Science are also eligible.

Salary

  • Candidates eligible as per Assistant Professor norms get Rs. 650 per hour, up to a maximum of Rs. 30,000 per month.
  • Candidates with B.F.Sc. and a Master's degree in Fisheries Science get Rs. 550 per hour, up to a maximum of Rs. 25,000 per month.
  • These are contractual hourly rates and not linked to any pay commission scale. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

There is no written exam for these posts. Selection is done directly through interview:

  1. Walk-in Interview: Appear with a brief bio-data in the prescribed format along with original certificates and self-attested copies related to academic qualifications, teaching experience, publications and reservation category.

The College reserves the right to increase, decrease, or not fill any of the positions at its discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom lectures and practical sessions for the 1st semester of 2026-27
  • Prepare course material and lesson plans as per the university syllabus
  • Guide and evaluate students during practicals and assignments
  • Assist in departmental research and extension activities as needed
  • Maintain attendance and academic records for assigned classes
  • Support examination duties including invigilation and evaluation
  • Follow all academic and administrative guidelines set by the College
