Food Craft Institute, Nagaon — an autonomous body under the Department of Tourism, Government of Assam, set up with joint assistance from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 — has invited applications for 1 Principal post on direct recruitment basis. The Institute operates under the guidance of the Department of Tourism, Government of Assam, chaired by the Department's Principal Secretary. Established in 2010, the Institute is located at Rangagora, Samaguri on NH-37 connecting upper and lower Assam, about 25 km from Nagaon, and is affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida. It currently runs five diploma courses — Front Office Operation, Food & Beverage Service, Food Production, Bakery & Confectionery, and Housekeeping — spread over one-and-a-half years and recognised throughout the country as well as abroad. The Institute's mission is to build skilled, industry-ready manpower for the hospitality sector and to support national skill development and tourism promotion goals. This is a 5-year tenure post extendable for one more term based on performance, ideal for senior hospitality professionals with strong academic and industry experience who want to lead a growing Government-backed institution.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Hospitality/Tourism or MBA from a recognised University/Institute, PLUS a full-time degree or 3-year diploma in Hotel Administration/Hospitality Management/Hotel Management/Hospitality Administration/Culinary Arts/Culinary Science with minimum 55% marks from NCHMCT, an AICTE-approved institute, a State Board of Technical Education approved institute, or a UGC/Central/State/Deemed University.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a managerial capacity (one level below GM) in a 3-star, Heritage or above category hotel, along with 5 years of teaching/training experience.
• Documents to prove your experience: You need to submit proof of your past designations and service duration with previous employers, a performance certificate indicating your work conduct, and details of your administrative experience, academic experience, training programs conducted/attended, curriculum development work, institutional accreditation work, and any research paper publications.
• Your application must disclose your Date of Birth, category (SC/ST/OBC/GEN), marital status and nationality, along with details of any past disciplinary proceedings (with affidavit) or legal detention/conviction, if any.
• A vigilance clearance/Integrity certificate is required where applicable.
• If you are currently working in Government/Quasi-Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous organisations, you must apply through proper channel or submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your present employer.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 50 years old as on 01 January 2026, which is the crucial date fixed by the Institute for determining age, qualification and experience.
• Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxation as per Government norms applies for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories.

Salary

• The post carries Pay Level 11 (as per 7th CPC), with a salary ranging from Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Government of Assam rules applicable to the post.
• The post has a probation period of 1 year from the date of joining.
• The appointment is tenure-based for 5 years and may be extended for one more term depending on your performance.

Selection Process

The selection is based on:

1. Screening of Applications: Your application, qualifications, and supporting documents on administrative and academic experience are screened against the eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
2. Interview: Eligible candidates are called for a personal interview after proper screening. The date and venue for the interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates. No TA/DA is paid to candidates called for interview.
