Family Court, Barabanki Counsellor Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts
Family Courts in India were set up under the Family Courts Act, 1984 to promote conciliation and give speedy resolution to disputes relating to marriage and family matters. Counsellors play a central role in this system — they meet separately or jointly with disputing parties before a case goes to trial, and try to help them settle matters amicably. The Family Court at Barabanki, which functions under the administrative control of the Allahabad High Court, is now looking to engage 3 Counsellors on a contract basis, one attached to each of its judges. This is a contractual engagement and not a regular government job — it is meant for candidates who already have a background in social work, psychology or family counselling and want to work closely with the judicial system.

- Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Sociology or Psychology from a UGC-recognized university, along with some social service experience.
- Preferred Qualification: If you hold a Master's degree in Social Work, have social service experience, and have worked in family counselling for at least 2 years, you will be given preference over other applicants.
- Domicile: Preference is also given to candidates who are permanent residents of Barabanki district.

- You should be between 35 and 65 years old as on the date this advertisement was published.
