Airports Authority of India (AAI), Eastern Region is hiring 140 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for its RHQ and various airports across the region. If you have a degree, diploma, or ITI certificate passed in or after 2024, you can apply online through the NATS or NAPS portal. The last date to apply is 15 August 2026. Airports Authority of India, Eastern Region has released Advertisement No. 01/2026/ER/APPRENTICE for engaging 140 Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Apprentices for a One-Year Apprenticeship Program for 2026-27 at its Regional Headquarters and airports in the Eastern Region. AAI is a Category-I 'Mini Ratna' Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and manages airport infrastructure across the country, so this apprenticeship is a great way to get real, hands-on exposure to airport operations right after your studies. This apprenticeship is open only to candidates from West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar. No application fee is charged, and freshers who completed their degree, diploma, or ITI in or after 2024 can apply for training at some of India's busiest airports, including Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Bagdogra and Gaya.

Training locations include RHQ Kolkata, VSI Airport (Sri Vijaya Puram), Bagdogra, Gaya, Patna, Birsa Munda Airport Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Pakyong and Jharsuguda airports. AAI reserves the right to increase, decrease, or cancel the number of apprenticeship seats without assigning any reason, so it's best to apply as early as possible.
Who Can Apply?
Graduate Apprentice:
- You must have passed your degree in or after 2024, as on 30 June 2026.
Diploma Apprentice:
- You must have passed your diploma in or after 2024, as on 30 June 2026.
ITI Apprentice:
- You must have passed your ITI trade certificate in or after 2024, as on 30 June 2026.
- Domicile: Only candidates from West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Eastern Region) can apply.
- Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
- For ITI candidates, if your trade training was already partly completed at a school or institution recognized by the National or State Council, that period is factored in when AAI works out your applicable stipend rate.
Salary
- Graduate Apprentices get a stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month.
- Diploma Apprentices get a stipend of Rs. 12,000 per month.
- ITI Apprentices get Rs. 9,600 per month in the first year of training and Rs. 10,560 per month in the second year (for National/State Trade Certificate holders).
- The engagement runs for a one-year training period and is governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 and AAI's policies.
Selection Process
AAI has not listed a separate written exam or interview for this apprenticeship drive in the notification. Your registration and application on the official NATS/NAPS portal, along with meeting the eligibility criteria for your chosen location, forms the basis of your engagement as an apprentice under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

- Graduate and Diploma candidates should go to the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in.
- ITI candidates should go to the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
- Register yourself on the relevant portal.
- Search for the concerned AAI Establishment ID matching the location you want (RHQ Kolkata, Bagdogra, Gaya, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Pakyong or Jharsuguda) — the Enrolment IDs for each location are listed in the official notification.
- Fill in and submit your online application. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.

Responsibilities
- Assist AAI officers and technical staff in day-to-day airport operations during the training period
- Learn hands-on skills relevant to your Graduate, Diploma, or ITI trade under supervision
- Support administrative or technical teams as assigned at your training location
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by your department
- Follow airport safety protocols and operational guidelines at all times
- Attend scheduled training sessions and skill evaluations regularly
- Complete assigned training tasks and projects within the one-year period
- Report your training progress to your assigned supervisor
