ESIC Udyogamandal Specialist and SR Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is hiring doctors for its ESIC Hospital at Udyogamandal in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The Medical Superintendent is filling Super Specialist, Specialist and one-year Senior Resident posts in Oncology, Radiology and Dermatology through a single walk-in interview. All posts are on contract — there is no written test, so your qualifications, experience and the interview decide selection. Posts and Disciplines

• Full Time / Part Time Super Specialist (Oncology): a medical oncology post for doctors with an MCh, DM or DNB. If no super-specialist turns up, a radiotherapy specialist may be considered at the specialist scale.
• Full Time / Part Time Specialist (Radiology): diagnostic imaging work for the hospital's patients, open to MBBS doctors with a PG degree or diploma and post-PG experience.
• Full Time / Part Time Specialist (Dermatology): skin and venereology outpatient and ward work for the hospital.
• Senior Resident, 1 Year (Radiology and Oncology): residency posts under ESIC Senior Residency norms. MBBS doctors with two years' experience, one of them in the specialty, are considered only if PG holders are not available.

Each post comes in an entry level and a senior level for full-time doctors, depending on how many years you have worked after your PG.

Post-wise Duties

Full Time Super Specialist and Specialist

You will run the specialty clinics and inpatient care in your department on weekdays and Saturday mornings, and you must come in for emergencies when called. You are responsible for every patient treated under your supervision in your discipline.

Part Time Super Specialist and Specialist

You will work a fixed weekly schedule of four days, four hours a day, handling consultations in your specialty. If you agree to emergency calls, you are paid separately for each visit and for extra hours approved by the Medical Superintendent.

Senior Resident

You will work as a senior resident in Radiology or Oncology, supporting the consultants in daily clinical work as per ESIC residency rules.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: Full-time posts run for one year or until a regular doctor joins, whichever is earlier, and can be extended up to three years on good performance. Part-time contracts are for one year.
• No private practice: Full-time specialists cannot run any private practice and must stay available on call.
• Leave: Full-time specialists earn leave every month; unused leave can be encashed within the yearly limit. Part-time specialists get no leave or other benefits.
• Indemnity insurance: Selected specialists must hold a professional indemnity policy and submit a copy within 7 days of joining.
• Registration: Only doctors with TCMC/MCI degree registration may attend.
• Reserved posts: If no candidate from the advertised category is available, the post may be filled with a UR candidate for 45 days. Caste certificates must follow the DoPT format, and OBC candidates need a non-creamy layer certificate.
• Retired doctors: Bring your Pension Payment Order and last pay slip.
• Vacancies may change: The Medical Superintendent can cancel the drive or change the number of posts on the interview day.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending, and canvassing leads to disqualification.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Report in person at ESIC Hospital, Udyogamandal, Ernakulam District, Kerala with the application in the prescribed format (Annexure II of the notice), a recent passport-size photo pasted on it, all original documents and one set of photocopies. Registration runs from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and anyone arriving after 9:15 AM will not be allowed into the interview. The fee is paid by demand draft in favour of ESI Fund Account No. 1, payable at SBI Kalamassery.

Corrigenda and Notices

• Updates: ESIC says any corrigendum for this walk-in will be published only on esic.gov.in, so check the site before you travel.

• Examine, diagnose and treat patients in the Oncology, Radiology or Dermatology department
• Run specialty outpatient clinics and manage admitted patients under your care
• Report imaging studies and advise treating doctors on findings (Radiology)
• Plan and supervise cancer treatment for insured patients (Oncology)
• Attend emergency calls when required by the hospital
• Guide and supervise senior residents and ward staff in your discipline
• Keep accurate patient records and follow ESIC hospital rules
