AIIMS Raipur Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Department of Trauma and Emergency at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur is building a team for an innovation project called "Strengthening the Emergency Care Systems in Chhattisgarh through Digital Hybrid Healthcare". The project runs under the PRAYAS scheme of IBITF, IIT Bhilai, and the notice carries the reference Admin/Rec./AIIMSRPR/T&E/5207.

The idea behind the project is to connect the emergency department at AIIMS Raipur with peripheral health centres in the state through a digital platform, so a clinician, a software engineer and a data handler are being hired together as one team. This is a rolling advertisement — applications keep getting accepted and screened until the posts are filled, instead of everything being decided in one round. All three engagements are contractual and tied to the life of the project, so treat them as project work rather than a regular AIIMS appointment.

Posts and Disciplines

• Junior Medical Officer: the clinical seat on the project team, open to MBBS doctors. You sit with the Department of Trauma and Emergency at AIIMS Raipur and also travel to the peripheral health centres covered by the project whenever the work needs it. Clinical work in an emergency department or a district-level casualty is what the department looks for.
• Senior Programmer: the technology seat, based at the AIIMS Raipur campus. It suits a B.Tech, M.Tech or MCA holder from electronics and communication, computer science or a related engineering discipline, and candidates with industry or research exposure to applied AI and machine learning are preferred.
• DEO cum Office Assistant: the support seat for someone who has already spent a couple of years doing data entry or office work. Good reading of handwritten notes and prescriptions, some familiarity with medical terms and comfort with Word and Excel matter here, and this role too involves field visits to the peripheral centres.

Post-wise Duties

Junior Medical Officer

You will recruit patients into the study and handle the clinical management of the cases that come into it. ECG collection and annotation, filling the case record forms, collecting samples from enrolled patients and entering the data into the project's app or web platform are part of the daily work, and you coordinate with the principal investigator and the rest of the research staff on case recruitment.

Senior Programmer

You will design and build the project's full-stack web application — the interface, the REST APIs behind it, and the relational and NoSQL databases underneath. The role also covers AI and machine-learning work on clinical datasets and medical images, deploying those models into the live application with real-time inference, and keeping the system running on Linux servers with proper web server configuration, containers, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring. You will work directly with clinicians to turn what they need into production software.

DEO cum Office Assistant

You will keep the project's paperwork and data in order — accurate recording, reporting and entry, coordination with the study sites, follow-up of participants in the cohort, and calls to patients to guide them through their hospital visits. You also help the investigators with office work such as meetings, file movement and general upkeep, and make sure the study stays within its protocol, the standard operating procedures and good clinical practice guidelines.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contractual and co-terminus: every post here ends with the project, and renewal depends on your performance and on what the project needs.
• Initial tenure: the Junior Medical Officer and Senior Programmer are engaged for six months and the DEO cum Office Assistant for three months, extendable till project completion based on performance.
• Rolling selection: screening and interviews happen from time to time as the project requires, and only shortlisted candidates are contacted, by email alone — no call letters or admit cards are issued.
• Result and updates: results go up on the AIIMS Raipur website and to the email address you give, so check the institute site instead of waiting for a letter.
• If too many apply: the interview may spill into the next day, or a screening test may be held, or another shortlisting method may be adopted — the competent authority's decision is final.
• Posts may not be filled: the principal investigator can fill or not fill any advertised post and may withdraw a post if no suitable candidate is found.
• Travel: no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview or for joining after selection.
