District Court Lunglei Bench Clerk Grade-III Recruitment 2026 — 4 Posts
The Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Lunglei Judicial District in Mizoram is hiring Bench Clerk Grade-III staff on a provisional basis. Lunglei Judicial District covers four administrative districts — Lunglei, Lawngtlai, Siaha, and Hnahthial. This recruitment is a good chance for Class 10 pass candidates in Mizoram who want a career in the state judiciary. One post is reserved for candidates with blindness and low vision (PwD).
Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
- HSLC/SSLC pass from a recognized institution approved by the Government
- Typing speed of 30 words per minute
- Computer operation qualification as specified by the Government (Computer Proficiency Certificate approved by Govt.)
- Working knowledge of Mizo language at least at Middle School standard
Other Requirements
- Must be an Indian citizen
- Documents must be attested by a Gazetted Officer
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 35 years
- Age relaxation for ST/SC: 5 years above the maximum age limit (up to 40 years)
- Age calculated as on: 24 April 2026
Salary
- Monthly remuneration: Rs. 16,920/-
- This is a provisional (ad-hoc) appointment

- PwD candidates: No fee (completely exempted)
Selection Process
The selection will be done in three stages:
- Written Exam (Paper-I): General English (50 marks), Precis Writing (25 marks), and Essay (25 marks) — total 100 marks, duration 3 hours
- Written Exam (Paper-II): General Knowledge (50 marks) and Simple Arithmetic (50 marks) — total 100 marks, duration 3 hours
- Typing Test (Paper-III): 50 marks, duration 30 minutes — minimum qualifying speed is 30 words per minute
- Personal Interview: 20 marks — only candidates who qualify both the written exam and typing test will be called for interview
Minimum qualifying marks: You need at least 35% in aggregate in the written test to qualify. The typing test is compulsory — you must clear it to move forward.

- Assist the court in day-to-day clerical and administrative work related to case proceedings
- Prepare and maintain court records, registers, and case files accurately
- Handle typing of court orders, judgments, and official correspondence
- Keep track of case listings, hearing dates, and court schedules
- Work with judicial officers to manage document flow and filing systems
- Follow court procedures for handling sensitive legal documents and case papers
- Manage communication between the court office and parties involved in cases
