Bombay HC Cook Recruitment 2026 — 5 Posts

The High Court of Bombay at Nagpur (officially known as Mumbai Uchcha Nyayalaya, Nagpur Khandpith) has issued Advertisement No. Ja.K. Aastha./2026/2377 dated 02/04/2026 to fill Cook positions on its establishment. This is a great opportunity for candidates with cooking experience and basic education to work in one of India's oldest and most prestigious High Courts. The post is based in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum 4th Standard pass (Class IV)
  • Candidates must have full knowledge and experience of cooking
  • Marathi language — reading, writing, and speaking is mandatory

Other Requirements

  • Candidates must be physically fit for cooking duties
  • Should not have been convicted by any criminal court or dismissed from MPSC/UPSC or any state government service
  • Should not have been dismissed by the judiciary or any court
  • Children born after 28 March 2006 under the small family norms (Mahanagar Nagari Seva Laghu Kutumb Niyam, 2005) — number of children should be as specified

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age (General/Open): 38 years
  • Maximum age (SC/ST/OBC): 43 years — as per Maharashtra Government reservation rules
  • Ex-servicemen: No upper age limit
  • Age will be calculated as on the date mentioned in the advertisement

Salary

  • Pay Matrix Level: S-3
  • Basic Pay Range: Rs. 16,600 — Rs. 52,400 per month
  • Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances as per Maharashtra State Government rules

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will go through the following stages. Your total score will be out of 50 marks:

  1. Practical Cooking Test — 30 marks
    This is the main test where you need to demonstrate your cooking skills. You must score at least 70% (17 out of 30 marks) to qualify. Candidates who fail to meet the minimum marks will not be considered further.
  2. Physical Ability Test — 10 marks
    Your physical fitness for kitchen and cooking duties will be assessed.
  3. Oral Interview — 10 marks
    A viva-voce round to test your general knowledge, experience, and suitability for the post.

Important: Admit cards will be sent to eligible candidates by email. Candidates must bring their admit card to the exam.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals as required by the High Court establishment at Nagpur Bench
  • Keep the kitchen area clean, hygienic, and well-organized at all times
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards as directed by the administration
  • Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients on a daily basis
  • Assist in menu planning and ensure timely preparation of meals
  • Handle kitchen equipment carefully and report any issues to the administration
  • Work with other staff members to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Minimum Qualification

4th Standard (Class IV) pass with cooking knowledge and experience. Marathi language proficiency required.

Exam Pattern
