District Court Koraput Counsellor Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
The Office of the District Judge, Koraput at Jeypore has invited applications for 1 vacant post of Counsellor in the Court of the Judge, Family Court, Jeypore. This recruitment is being done under the direction of the Hon'ble High Court of Orissa, Cuttack (vide Lt. No. 4492(60) dated 16.03.2026), as per Rule-5 and Rule-6 of the Family Courts (Orissa) Rules, 1990. The Counsellor will be appointed by the Hon'ble High Court of Orissa. If you have a background in social work, family counselling, or welfare activities, this is a good opportunity to work in the judiciary.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification (Preferred — Route A): Master's Degree in Social Science, preferably in Sociology or Psychology, from a recognised university.
- Alternative Qualification (Route B): If you are above 35 years of age and have been working in the field of social service and welfare activities, promoting the welfare of Family and Child Care, with a degree in Social Science (preferably Sociology or Psychology), you can also apply. However, candidates with Route A qualification will be given preference.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Family Counselling is mandatory.
- Language: You must be able to speak, read and write in Odia and must have passed the Odia test equivalent to the M.E. standard.
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India.
- Marital Status: Must not have more than one spouse living, if married.
- Health: Must be of sound health, good physique and free from organic defects or bodily infirmity.
- Criminal Record: No criminal case should be pending against you, and you should not have been convicted in any criminal case.
Age Limit
- Age as on: 31 March 2026

Salary
- Retainer Fee: Rs. 6,000 per month

Responsibilities
- Counsel parties involved in family disputes to reach amicable settlements
- Handle pre-litigation counselling sessions for matrimonial and family cases
- Assist the Family Court Judge in understanding the family dynamics of each case
- Prepare detailed reports on counselling sessions and submit them to the Court
- Work with families to promote reconciliation and welfare of children
- Follow up on cases referred by the Family Court for mediation and counselling
- Maintain proper records of all counselling sessions and case progress
