These positions cover medical specialists across 5 disciplines, a Medical Officer in-Charge, Nursing in-Charge, Lab Technician, Ophthalmic Assistant, and Store Assistant. This is a contractual recruitment under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). Who Can Apply?

Medical Officer in-Charge (Rs. 80,000/month)

• Qualification: MBBS from an NMC recognized institute with 1 year compulsory internship, plus PG degree or diploma in Public Health, Community Medicine, or Hospital Administration (recognized by NMC)
• Registration: Must be registered under West Bengal Medical Council
• Experience: At least 2 years in managerial capacity after post graduation in any Government or Private Health Institution

Specialist Posts - Pediatrician, Anesthetic, Medicine, O&G, Ophthalmology (Rs. 65,000-70,000/month)

• Qualification: MBBS from an MCI recognized institute with PG Degree, DNB, or Diploma in the relevant specialty
• Registration: Must be registered under West Bengal Medical Council
• Salary: Rs. 70,000/month with PG Degree, Rs. 65,000/month with PG Diploma

Nursing in-Charge (Rs. 50,000/month)

• Qualification: M.Sc in Nursing (Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, or Community Health Nursing)
• Registration: Must be registered under West Bengal Nursing Council
• Computer Skills: Well conversant in Microsoft Office
• Experience: At least 1 year clinical experience after M.Sc Nursing

Lab Technician (Rs. 22,000/month)

• Qualification: 10+2 (Science) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics, plus DMLT from a WB State Medical Faculty or AICTE recognized institute
• Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, Internet)

Ophthalmic Assistant (Rs. 18,000/month)

• Qualification: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, plus a 2-year Diploma in Paramedical Ophthalmic Assistants Course or Diploma Course in Optometry & Ophthalmic technique, recognized by the Government of West Bengal
• Preferred: 1 year of training after Diploma from a recognized Government Hospital or licensed Clinical Establishment in West Bengal. Preference to candidates from RIO and Government Hospitals with Government stipends

Store Assistant (Rs. 22,000/month)

• Qualification: Higher Secondary (12th pass) plus D.Pharma
• Computer Skills: Must be well conversant with various computer programming including MS Word and Excel

All applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal and must have knowledge of local languages.

Age Limit

• Medical Officer in-Charge: Upper age limit 67 years as on 1 January 2026. Tenure can be renewed up to 70 years
• Specialist Posts (all 5 disciplines): Upper age limit 62 years as on 1 January 2026
• Nursing in-Charge: Minimum 22 years, maximum 40 years as on 1 January 2026
• Lab Technician: Upper age limit 40 years as on 1 January 2026
• Ophthalmic Assistant: Minimum 18 years, maximum 40 years as on 1 January 2026
• Store Assistant: Minimum 18 years, maximum 40 years as on 1 January 2026
• Age relaxation as per Government of West Bengal norms for SC/ST/OBC categories

Salary

• Medical Officer in-Charge: Rs. 80,000 per month
• Specialists (PG Degree holders): Rs. 70,000 per month
• Specialists (PG Diploma holders): Rs. 65,000 per month
• Nursing in-Charge: Rs. 50,000 per month
• Lab Technician: Rs. 22,000 per month
• Store Assistant: Rs. 22,000 per month
• Ophthalmic Assistant: Rs. 18,000 per month

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Online Recruitment Data Evaluation: Your application data and qualifications will be evaluated. Candidates found eligible will be shortlisted for document verification.

• Provide specialist medical care and treatment to patients at the Urban Community Health Centre
• Manage outpatient and inpatient services in the assigned department
• Perform diagnostic tests, laboratory work, and assist in clinical procedures as per the assigned role
• Maintain proper medical records, prescriptions, and patient documentation
• Follow all health protocols and guidelines set by NUHM and the Department of Health & Family Welfare
• Work in coordination with other staff members for smooth functioning of the health centre
• Assist in community health programs, awareness campaigns, and outreach activities under NUHM
• Handle inventory, medicines, and equipment management as per the assigned responsibilities
