Who Can Apply?

Salary / Honorarium

• Anganwadi Workers receive a monthly honorarium of approximately Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 7,500 per month (combined central and state government contribution)
• This is a fixed monthly honorarium — not a regular government salary with pay levels or DA/HRA allowances
• Additional benefits include yearly festival bonus, uniform allowance, and limited medical benefits through state schemes
• Maternity benefits are available under PMMVY (Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on merit — no written exam is conducted:

1. Merit List Preparation: A merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the Intermediate (12th) examination. Higher qualifications (graduation and above) are given additional weight in merit calculation.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called to verify their educational certificates, age proof, domicile/residency proof, and caste certificate (if applicable).
3. Final Selection: Selection is finalised by the District Programme Officer (DPO) at the district level. You can contact the District Magistrate or DPO for any queries.

• Run the Anganwadi centre daily and ensure proper functioning of all services
• Provide supplementary nutrition to children aged 0-6 years, pregnant women, and lactating mothers
• Conduct pre-school education activities for children aged 3-6 years at the centre
• Assist in immunisation drives and health check-up sessions organised by health department staff
• Maintain records of beneficiaries (children, pregnant women, lactating mothers) in the assigned area
• Conduct home visits to identify malnourished children and pregnant women needing special attention
• Spread awareness about nutrition, hygiene, and child health practices in the community
• Coordinate with the ANM, ASHA worker, and other health functionaries for convergence activities
