Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a Government of India Miniratna Schedule 'A' Company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has released a vacancy notification for 1 Manager (Environment) post at its Kochi facility. This is a senior executive-level opening for someone who can lead CSL's environmental compliance, ESG reporting, and sustainability initiatives in the shipbuilding and repair industry. No written exam is required — selection is based purely on work experience, a presentation, and an interview. The role calls for frequent site visits to docks, workshops, and ships under construction or repair, so you should be comfortable working at height and in confined spaces. The posting will primarily be at CSL, Kochi, though you may be transferred to other CSL units or project sites in India or abroad as required.

CSL reserves the right to increase, decrease, or cancel the number of notified vacancies depending on its requirements. If you're not selected in this cycle but meet the eligibility bar, you may still get a chance later — CSL maintains a rank list valid for 18 months from the date the last candidate reports for duty, and this list can also be used to fill any future vacancies for the same post.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc degree from a recognised university in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science & Technology, Environmental Engineering & Management, or Climate Science.
• Experience: You need at least 7 years of post-qualification managerial, consultant, or advisor experience in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Sustainability, or Environmental Management.
• For government/PSU employees: At least 1 year of that experience must be in the immediate lower pay scale or an equivalent grade.
• Desirable: Experience working in an ERP/SAP computerised environment is an added advantage.
• Not eligible: Employees currently working in CSL or any of its units on regular rolls at the same pay scale cannot apply for this post.
• This post is not identified as suitable for persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) due to frequent site visits, climbing, and work in confined spaces.

Age Limit

• You should not be older than 40 years as on 10 August 2026 (born on or after 11 August 1986).
• Age Relaxation: Ex-servicemen can apply up to 50 years.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a starting basic pay of Rs. 60,000 per month, rising up to Rs. 1,80,000 in the E3 grade pay scale (3% annual increments).
• Total monthly emoluments at joining come to around Rs. 1,25,460, including DA (54.1%), HRA (20%), and Perks & Allowances (35%).
• You will also get benefits under the National Pension System, Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity, Accident Insurance, Medical Assistance Scheme, and Earned Leave encashment as per CSL rules.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

CSL will select candidates through the following stages, worth 100 marks in total:

1. Application Screening: CSL checks your certificates against the eligibility criteria and prepares a shortlist.
2. Power Point Presentation: Shortlisted candidates present their work experience in under 10 minutes (30 marks).
3. Group Discussion: Candidates who clear the presentation stage move to a group discussion (10 marks).
4. Personal Interview: Final round assessing your work experience and suitability (20 marks). Your relevant work experience itself carries 40 marks.

Selection is held at CSL, Kochi, or through video interview. If you are called for the selection process, CSL will reimburse to-and-fro AC 3-tier train fare as per company rules.
