Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed Miniratna Schedule 'A' Company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has released a notification for 2 Manager (Defence-Business Expansions) posts on its regular executive cadre (Grade E3). This role focuses on business development for the defence sector, including key account management, warship refit contracts, and market outreach for ship repair. The initial posting is at CSL Kochi, with placement afterward at Ship Repair Facilities in Karwar or Visakhapatnam.

Who Can Apply?

CSL is looking for someone with hands-on naval or shipyard experience who can manage defence-sector business relationships. You must be an Indian citizen, and if you are currently in regular Government or PSU service, you can still apply, but you must submit your application online directly and upload a declaration that you have informed your employer in writing.

• Qualification: You need a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture with at least 60% marks from a recognized university. A PG Degree/Diploma in Business Administration with Marketing or Shipping & Port Management specialization is desirable.
• Experience: You must be an Ex-Indian Navy officer (not below the rank of Lieutenant Commander) or an Ex-Indian Coast Guard officer (not below Deputy Commandant rank), with a minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or commissioning of weapons, communication, sensor, or combat management systems on naval vessels.
• Desirable: Experience in business development at a shipyard, executing and managing contracts, working with Classification Societies or Marine Inspection Agencies, Refit monitoring teams, Warship Overseeing teams, or an ERP/SAP environment.
• Note: This post has not been identified as suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) due to the nature of the work.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 40 years as on 10 August 2026 (you should be born on or after 11 August 1986).
• Age Relaxation: Ex-servicemen can apply up to 50 years, as per Government of India guidelines.

Salary

• You will get a basic pay of Rs. 60,000 per month under the E3 grade pay scale of Rs. 60,000-3%-1,80,000.
• Your total monthly emoluments (basic pay + DA + HRA + perks/allowances) currently add up to around Rs. 1,25,460.
• You will also get benefits such as National Pension System (NPS), Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity, Accident Insurance Coverage, Medical Assistance Scheme, and Earned Leave encashment.

Application Fee

• General/OBC/EWS and other applicants: Rs. 1,000 (non-refundable, plus bank charges)
• SC/ST candidates: No fee
• Payment mode: Online only (Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking). No other mode of payment is accepted.
• No refund is given after you submit the fee, even if you withdraw your application.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your work experience and the notified job requirements.
2. Power Point Presentation: Shortlisted candidates present their work experience in up to 10 minutes — 30 marks.
3. Group Discussion: 10 marks.
4. Personal Interview: 20 marks.

Your Work Experience is separately assessed for 40 marks, making a total of 100 marks. The selection process will be held at CSL Kochi or through interview via electronic media. Candidates shortlisted for appointment must also clear document verification and a medical examination.

Note: CSL will reimburse single-to-and-fro third AC rail fare for candidates attending the interview at CSL Kochi, by the shortest route from your mailing address (this does not apply if the interview is conducted via electronic media). CSL also maintains a rank list valid for 18 months from the date of joining of the last selected candidate, which may be used to fill future vacancies for the same post.
