Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed Miniratna Schedule 'A' Company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has released a notification for 6 Deputy Manager posts at its Mumbai Ship Repair Unit (CMSRU) and Kolkata Ship Repair Unit (CKSRU). This recruitment covers 3 disciplines — Mechanical, HR & Administration, and Safety — each with its own qualification and experience requirements. Category-wise breakdown (Deputy Manager - Mechanical): UR: 1, OBC: 1, SC: 1, ST: 1 (Total: 4). The Deputy Manager (HR & Administration) and Deputy Manager (Safety) posts are both Unreserved (UR).

Who Can Apply?

For Deputy Manager (Mechanical) - CMSRU & CKSRU:

• Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years post-qualification managerial experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, engineering companies, offshore fabrication, or marine-related companies, in the areas of mechanical/machinery systems, fabrication, construction, or installation.

For Deputy Manager (HR & Administration) - CMSRU:

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Business Administration (HR specialization) or PG Diploma in Business Administration/Management, or PG Degree in Personnel Management/Industrial Relations/HR Management, with minimum 60% marks.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years post-qualification managerial experience in HR/Administration in a PSU, engineering company, or Government/Semi-Government organization.

For Deputy Manager (Safety) - CMSRU:

• Qualification: Degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology, OR Degree in Physics/Chemistry, OR Diploma in Engineering/Technology, plus a Diploma in Industrial Safety (not mandatory for Safety Engineering degree holders).
• Experience: Degree holders in Engineering/Technology need 7 years of experience (2 years supervisory + 5 years in Industrial Safety); Degree holders in Physics/Chemistry or Diploma holders need 10 years (5 years supervisory + 5 years Industrial Safety).

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 35 years as on 10 August 2026 (you should be born on or after 11 August 1991).
• Age Relaxation: OBC candidates get 3 years, SC/ST candidates get 5 years, and Ex-servicemen can apply up to 45 years. PwBD relaxation for the Deputy Manager (HR & Administration) post follows Government of India guidelines.

Salary

• You will get a basic pay of Rs. 50,000 per month under the E2 grade pay scale of Rs. 50,000-3%-1,60,000.
• Your total monthly emoluments (basic pay + DA + HRA + perks/allowances) currently add up to around Rs. 1,09,550.
• You will also get benefits such as National Pension System (NPS), Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity, Accident Insurance Coverage, Medical Assistance Scheme, and Earned Leave encashment.

• PwBD candidates applying for Deputy Manager (HR & Administration): No fee

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your work experience and eligibility documents.
2. Power Point Presentation: Shortlisted candidates present their work experience in up to 10 minutes — 30 marks.
3. Group Discussion: 10 marks.
4. Personal Interview: 20 marks.

Your Work Experience is separately assessed for 40 marks, making a total of 100 marks. The selection process will be held at CSL Kochi/CMSRU Mumbai or through interview via electronic media. Candidates shortlisted for appointment must also clear document verification and a medical examination.

• Plan, organize, and coordinate ship repair activities in mechanical, machinery, or safety systems, based on assigned discipline
