CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar has released Advertisement No. PME/P84/2026 for 9 Project Associate-I positions spread across 9 separate research projects in its Chemistry, Physics, Metallurgical, and Mechanical Engineering divisions. These are temporary project positions, co-terminus with the duration of each individual project (up to 31 March 2027). Each project carries 1 vacancy, and the research areas range from carbon dioxide conversion catalysts and arsenic removal from drinking water to hydrogen electrolyzers and 3D-printed reactors. Who Can Apply?

For Chemistry-based Projects (Post Codes 8401-8404, 8406):

• You need an M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry (some projects also accept M.Sc. Polymer Science)
• Knowledge of chemical synthesis and basic analytical techniques is required for most projects

For Metallurgical/Materials Projects (Post Code 8405):

• You need a B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering or an M.Sc. in Material Science
• Experience in material development, coatings, or analysis techniques such as XRD, SEM, and Thermal Conductivity is preferred

For Mechanical Engineering Project (Post Code 8407):

• You need a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with knowledge of both SolidWorks and 3D printing

For Physics-based Projects (Post Codes 8408-8409):

• You need an M.Sc. in Physics with expertise in nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, or material synthesis and electrochemical studies

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 35 years for all Project Associate-I posts under this advertisement.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 25,000 per month plus HRA at 20%.
• The position is for the duration of the project, up to 31 March 2027.
