Who Can Apply?

For Project Assistant-II (PA-II) — Stipend Rs. 20,000+HRA:

  • You need a B.Sc in Statistics/Computer Science or a similar subject.

For Project Associate-I (PAT-I) — Stipend Rs. 25,000-31,000+HRA:

  • You need a B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or an allied stream, OR an M.Sc in Chemistry or a related science (Biotechnology, Physics, Statistics, Data Science, Geology, Pharmacy — depending on the project).

For Project Associate-II (PAT-II) — Stipend Rs. 28,000-35,000+HRA:

  • You need a Master's degree in Chemical Sciences/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with about 2 years of experience, or a NET/GATE qualification.

For Senior Project Associate (Senior-PAT) — Stipend Rs. 42,000-57,000+HRA:

  • You need an M.Sc with 3+ years of experience or a Ph.D. in the relevant subject.

For Project Scientist-I / Project Research Scientist-I — Stipend Rs. 56,000+HRA:

  • You need a Ph.D. with proven research experience, publications, or patents in the relevant field.

Age Limit

  • Most positions have an upper age limit of 35 years as on the date of your walk-in interview.
  • Senior Project Associate posts: upper age limit is 40 years (one Senior-PAT/ANRF post allows up to 50 years).
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/Women and PwBD candidates get relaxation as per Government of India and CSIR rules.

Salary

  • Stipends range from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 57,000 per month, depending on the position and your qualification.
  • You will also get House Rent Allowance (HRA) of 24% to 30% on top of the stipend, if you are not provided institutional accommodation.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection for all posts is through:

  1. Walk-in Interview: Held in person at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, on your assigned date.
  2. Skill Test: Conducted for suitable posts along with the interview, where applicable.

You must register between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM on your interview date — candidates registering after 9:30 AM will not be allowed.

These positions are purely temporary, initially for up to six months, and may be extended based on project needs and your performance. They do not entitle you to any permanent position in CSIR-IICT or CSIR.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments and lab work as per your assigned research project
  • Collect, analyze and record data using standard scientific methods
  • Prepare technical reports, project updates and research documentation
  • Handle lab equipment and instruments used in your project's chemistry/engineering work
  • Follow safety protocols and CSIR-IICT lab guidelines at all times
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and other project team members
  • Support literature review and background research for the project
  • Assist in preparing publications, patents or project deliverables
