CSIR-IGIB is hiring 15 Technician (1) posts on direct recruitment basis in Delhi with All India Service Liability. CSIR-IGIB Technician Recruitment 2026 - 15 Posts

CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), a CSIR research institute working in genomics, molecular medicine, bioinformatics and proteomics, has released Advt. No. 01/2026 for Technician (1) posts. The recruitment covers two post codes: T-01 for Computer Operator and Programming Assistant work and T-02 for Health, Safety and Environment work in institutional facilities or laboratories. Selection includes a trade test followed by a competitive written exam, so you should be ready for both practical trade knowledge and objective papers.

Vacancy Breakdown

• Technician (1) T-02 - Health, Safety and Environment: 8 posts (UR 4, EWS 1, OBC NCL 2, SC 1)
• Technician (1) T-01 - COPA: 7 posts (UR 3, OBC NCL 2, SC 1, ST 1)
• Total reservation: UR 7, EWS 1, OBC NCL 4, SC 2, ST 1
• Horizontal reservation: 1 post for Ex-Servicemen and 1 post for PwBD (Deaf and Hard of Hearing)

Who Can Apply?

For COPA Trade - Post Code T-01

• Qualification: You need SSC/10th with Science or equivalent with at least 55% marks.
• Trade certificate route: You must have an ITI certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA).
• Experience route: You can also apply with 2 years apprentice training in COPA or 3 years work experience in COPA in a government, PSU, autonomous body or similar organisation.

For Health, Safety and Environment - Post Code T-02

• Qualification: You need SSC/10th with Science or equivalent with at least 55% marks.
• Trade certificate route: You must have an ITI certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in Health, Safety and Environment.
• Experience route: You can also apply with 2 years apprentice training or 3 years work experience in Health, Safety and Environment in an approved organisation.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 18 years old as on 04 July 2026.
• Upper age limit is 28 years as on 04 July 2026.
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation for reserved vacancies.
• OBC NCL: 3 years relaxation for reserved vacancies.
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation, with additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Government of India rules.
• Ex-Servicemen, departmental candidates, widows/divorced women and other categories: relaxation applies as per CSIR/Government of India rules.

Salary

• Pay scale is Pay Level 2: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
• Approximate starting starting pay in Delhi are Rs. 39,970 at the minimum of the scale including HRA.
• You can also get DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, medical reimbursement, LTC, children education allowance and other benefits as per CSIR rules.
• The post carries All India Service Liability, so posting can be anywhere in India.

Selection Process

The CSIR-IGIB selection process has two main stages after application screening.

1. Application Screening: A screening committee will shortlist candidates for the trade test based on the advertisement conditions.
2. Trade Test: The trade test will be held in the relevant trade. It is used to check practical suitability for the Technician post.
3. Competitive Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates will take an OMR or computer-based objective exam with 150 questions for 2 hours 30 minutes.
4. Document Verification and Medical Fitness: Original documents will be checked, and appointment will be subject to fitness and other CSIR rules.
