CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), a premier research institute working in genomics, molecular medicine, bioinformatics and proteomics under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, has released Advt. No. 02/2026 for 2 Multi-Tasking Staff posts (Post Code MTS-2601) at its Delhi campus. This is direct recruitment to a permanent Group C post carrying an All India Service Liability, meaning you could later be asked to serve at any CSIR lab in the country. Only a 10th pass qualification is needed — selection is through a single objective-type exam with no interview, which makes this a good entry point into a central government research organisation.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed 10th Standard (SSC) or an equivalent exam from a recognized board. Any other recognized qualification equivalent to this will also be accepted.
• Reservation: Of the 2 posts, 1 is unreserved (UR) and 1 is reserved for SC candidates.
• Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.
• Government Employees: If you currently work as a regular employee in CSIR, a Government Organisation, Autonomous Body, Statutory Body, University or PSU, you must upload a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer along with your online application.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 25 years old as on 26 August 2026, the last date for submitting the online application.
• Age Relaxation: SC candidates get 5 years relaxation (up to 30 years). Widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands can apply up to 35 years (up to 40 years for SC candidates in this group). Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per government rules, and can deduct their actual military service period from their age.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get Pay Level 1 (Rs. 18,000 - 56,900 per month) under the 7th CPC, with approximate starting emoluments of Rs. 36,360 per month, including HRA applicable to Delhi.
• You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), medical reimbursement, and Leave Travel Concession as per CSIR/Government of India rules.
• You will be covered under the National Pension System (or the applicable Extant Pension System), and may get institute or government accommodation subject to availability under the CSIR Residence Allotment Rules, 2022.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS candidates: Rs. 500
• SC / ST / Women / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: No fee
• Payment mode: Online only, through SBI Collect on the CSIR-IGIB recruitment portal. The fee is non-refundable, and cannot be adjusted or held in reserve for any future exam or selection.

Selection Process (Single Stage — No Interview)

Selection is based on a single written exam:

1. OMR-Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination: 100 questions for a total of 450 marks, to be completed in 1 hour 30 minutes. Each correct answer gets 3 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.

The exam is set in both English and Hindi (except the English Language paper, which is in English only). The final merit list is based purely on your marks in this exam — there is no interview. If two or more candidates score equal marks, ties are resolved as per CSIR's tie-breaking rules (Letter No. 5-1(211)/2014-PD dated 30.05.2023).
