CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, has released Advertisement No. 08/PC/2026 for engaging 3 Senior Project Associates on a purely temporary basis under three sponsored research projects. The projects cover railway earthwork applications, geotechnical airstrip design, and graphene-based asphalt modifier evaluation. Selection is through walk-in interview only — no written exam. The maximum age is 40 years on the date of interview.

Vacancy Breakdown by Project

• Project SSP-4845 (Closed-Cell Polyurethane Mats for Railway Earthwork, Jhansi-Bina 3rd Line): 1 post, 7 months tenure
• Project SSP-4844 (Geotechnical Design Review for Airstrip Project at Kachchh, Gujarat): 1 post, 6 months tenure
• Project SSP-4842 (Evaluation of Genable graphene-based polymer modifier for asphalt pavement): 1 post, 9 months tenure

All tenures are co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

Who Can Apply?

For Project SSP-4845 (Railway Earthwork - Walk-in 08 May 2026):

• Master's or Integrated Master's in Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Engineering of Infrastructure & Disaster Mitigation (or allied specializations) from a recognized university
• 2 years of R&D experience in industrial/academic institutions or S&T organizations

For Project SSP-4844 (Airstrip Project - Walk-in 08 May 2026):

• Master's or Integrated Master's in Civil Geotechnical Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering or allied specialization
• 2 years of R&D experience in industrial/academic institutions or S&T organizations

For Project SSP-4842 (Asphalt Pavement - Walk-in 11 May 2026):

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with 3 years of R&D experience, OR
• Master's/Integrated Master's in Transportation Engineering with 2 years of R&D experience
• Desirable: Experience in pavement material laboratory; Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Pavement material/Pavement Design)

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years as on the date of walk-in interview
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates; 3 years for OBC candidates

Salary

• You will get Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA as per CSIR rules.
• The total period of engagement under one or multiple CSIR projects shall not exceed 6 years cumulatively.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview Only)

Selection is based on:

1. Walk-in Interview: Eligible candidates must appear directly at CSIR-CRRI, New Delhi on the scheduled date.
2. Document Verification: Bring original certificates plus self-attested copies. No candidate will be allowed without original certificates.
3. Shortlisting (if many candidates): The Selection Committee may shortlist based on its own criteria if turnout is high.

Candidates are encouraged to speak in Hindi during the interview. Candidates pursuing higher degrees under AcSIR or CSIR-MoU universities must bring an NOC (Annexure-II format).

• Carry out research and development work on the assigned sponsored project at CSIR-CRRI
• Perform laboratory investigation, geotechnical testing, and material characterization as per project scope
• Conduct FEM analysis, design review, and pavement material evaluation depending on the project
• Prepare technical reports, project deliverables, and progress updates for the Project Coordinator
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and follow standard test protocols
• Coordinate with project supervisors, scientists, and external industrial partners
• Document research data and contribute to publications and project closure reports
