CMHO Surajpur Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Surajpur in Chhattisgarh is hiring Medical Officers on contract through a walk-in interview. The posts are paid from the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Trust fund of Surajpur district, after the Collector's office approved the spending for 2026-27 to tackle the shortage of doctors in the district's health centres. These are stop-gap posts meant to strengthen medical care in the DMF-covered affected areas and health institutions until the posts are filled by regular means.

You will need an MBBS degree and a live registration with the Chhattisgarh Medical Council. The whole process, from registration to interview, finishes on a single day at the CMHO office.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: Only permanent residents of Chhattisgarh can apply.
• Tenure: The engagement runs for one year from joining, or as long as DMF money is available. It ends on its own, without notice, once the post is filled by contract, direct recruitment or transfer. Any extension depends on the department's need and a fresh DMF budget.
• Fixed pay only: You get a single lump-sum monthly payment; no other allowance is paid.
• Fitness and agreement: At joining you must submit a physical fitness certificate from the District Medical Board and sign an agreement on Rs. 50 stamp paper, followed by a six-month contract after appointment.
• Stay at the posting place: You must live at your posting headquarters. Commuting from anywhere else is not allowed and can end your service.
• Experience marks: Only experience from government, semi-government or government-aided institutions in a related post counts. Unpaid service or posts not paid from government funds earn no marks.
• Grades: If your marks are shown as grades, attach a verified conversion chart from your institution.
• Waiting list: It stays valid for one year and may be used if more posts open up.
• Changes: The number of posts may change, and the selection can be revised or cancelled as needed. The Collector's decision is final.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Get the prescribed application format from surajpur.nic.in or the CMHO office notice board, fill it in, and paste and self-sign a recent colour passport photo. On top of the form, clearly write the post name, your address and your category (UR, SC, ST or OBC). Incomplete or unclear forms are rejected.

The walk-in day at the Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer, District Surajpur runs in this order:

1. 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM: registration and document check. Late arrivals are not registered.
2. 1:30 PM: list of eligible and ineligible candidates.
3. 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM: claims and objections.
4. 2:30 PM: merit list for the interview.
5. 3:00 PM: walk-in interview.
