ICAR-CMFRI Young Professional-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Visakhapatnam Regional Centre of ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) has issued a notification dated 30 July 2026 for 1 Young Professional-I (YP-I) post to work on an Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board study — the "Baseline Study of Upputeru Creek Area, Nakkapalli Mandal, Anakapalli District: Rapid Impact Assessment Study (RIAS)." CMFRI is one of the ICAR institutes dedicated to marine fisheries research, and this project focuses on assessing the ecological impact of the Upputeru Creek area in Anakapalli district. There is no written exam — selection happens through email-based document screening followed by a walk-in interview, so you can complete the whole process quickly if shortlisted. Candidates comfortable with fieldwork, water quality sampling, and speaking Telugu should apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Science, Marine Biology, Aquatic Biology, Environmental Science, Zoology, or another relevant subject.
• Desirable Experience: Experience in marine or coastal ecological sampling — collecting and analyzing seawater, sediment and biological samples — along with knowledge of plankton, benthos, fisheries biodiversity and water quality analysis will strengthen your application.
• Desirable Skills: Familiarity with GPS, GIS/QGIS, socio-economic surveys, stakeholder interactions, MS Office, and statistical software such as R, SPSS or PRIMER is an advantage.
• Other Requirements: You should be willing to do extensive fieldwork, including field photography and documentation, and be ready to travel and work in field conditions.
• Language: You should be proficient in Telugu, since the study area is in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 45 years old as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST and women candidates get 5 years relaxation; OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation, as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get Rs. 30,000 per month (consolidated) as per ICAR guidelines.
• The post is purely on a contract basis for one year or till the project ends, whichever is earlier.

CMFRI will select the Young Professional-I through document screening followed by a walk-in interview:
