CAEPHT JRF and Field cum Laboratory Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

College of Agricultural Engineering & Post Harvest Technology (CAEPHT), Central Agricultural University, Ranipool, Gangtok has released a walk-in interview notice dated 25 April 2026. The recruitment is for the project Development of On-Farm Yak Milking Machine and Feed Pelletization Technology for Sustainable Livelihoods in the Eastern Himalayas, sponsored by the National Mission of Himalayan Studies, MoEF&CC, Government of India. The selected staff will work on food engineering, dairy product processing, field trials, data collection, and training support connected with yak milk and feed systems in the Eastern Himalayas. Who Can Apply?

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Qualification: You need M.Tech / M.E. in Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Processing, Processing and Food Engineering, Dairy and Food Engineering, Dairy & Food Technology, or another relevant food engineering/food technology specialisation.
• Alternate qualification: M.Sc. in relevant subjects, Livestock Product Technology, or another relevant specialisation with NET qualification.
• Preferred experience: Processing, product development and analysis of dairy or food products, plus knowledge of 3D drawing analysis and machine design.

Field cum Laboratory Assistant

• Qualification: You need graduation from a recognised institution.
• Language knowledge: You should know English, Nepali and Hindi for field and lab support work.
• Work fit: The role includes field survey, sample support, data entry, documentation, and help during training programmes and workshops.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years.
• The notice does not mention a separate minimum age or category-wise relaxation.

Salary

• JRF: Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA as applicable.
• JRF after satisfactory 2-year performance: Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA as applicable.
• Field cum Laboratory Assistant: Rs. 15,000 per month fixed.

Selection Process

Selection will be through a walk-in interview at CAEPHT, Ranipool, Gangtok.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The selected person must be ready for field visits and tours as required by the project work.
