BMH Delhi Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital (BMH), run by the Government of NCT of Delhi at Pitampura, is holding a walk-in interview to fill Senior Resident posts in three clinical departments: Radiology, Paediatrics and Medicine. These are purely adhoc appointments under the Residency Scheme, made on an emergency basis until regular residents join. There is no written test. You turn up with your documents and meet the interview panel at the Medical Superintendent's office.

Posts and Disciplines

• Radiology: the biggest share of this drive, open to General and OBC candidates. A valid MD or DNB in Radiology is a must here; experience without the degree is not accepted.
• Paediatrics: a single post marked for an SC candidate, for doctors with a PG degree, diploma or DNB in Paediatrics.
• Medicine: also a single SC-marked post, for doctors with a PG qualification in General Medicine.

Reserved seats can go to unreserved candidates if no eligible SC, ST or OBC doctor turns up on interview day, so it is worth attending even if a post is marked for another category.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Each appointment runs for 89 days or until a regular resident joins, whichever comes first, with a one-day break after every 89 days.
• Senior residency cap: You must not have already finished three years of senior residency anywhere, counting both regular and adhoc service.
• Without a PG degree: If no PG-qualified doctors are available in a speciality, MBBS doctors with two years of experience in that speciality may be considered, but not for Radiology.
• DMC registration: Your PG, diploma or DNB must be registered with the Delhi Medical Council. If you only hold the DMC application receipt at the interview, you must hand in the certificate within 45 days of joining, or your candidature is cancelled.
• Second-list appointments: Under the Delhi Health and Family Welfare Department's 2011 relaxation circular, the list of fresh candidates is used first. Anyone appointed from the second list gets one year only, with no renewal.
• OBC certificate: Only a Delhi OBC certificate (non-creamy layer, current year) is accepted.
• Other terms: Appointment depends on medical fitness and certificate checks. The number of posts can change and posts may be filled in phases. No TA/DA is paid for attending.

There is no online form. Report between 09:30 AM and 11:30 AM on the interview day at Room No. 132, Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital, H-4/5, Pitampura, Delhi-110034. Carry a passport-size photo, your original certificates and one set of attested copies for verification.
