About This Job
Bengaluru Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) is hiring 1 Project Technical Support-III on a contractual basis for the ICMR-funded MIGRATED Project in the Department of Microbiology. If you have a 3-year Bachelor's degree in MLT / Biotechnology / Life Sciences and you are under 35 years of age, this is your chance to work on a national health research project. The total monthly salary is Rs. 36,400 (Rs. 28,000 basic plus 30% HRA of Rs. 8,400). The last date to submit your application is 29 April 2026 before 5:00 PM.
BMCRI Project Technical Support-III Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post
BMCRI has issued Notification No. BMCRI/Project/49/2025-2026 for direct recruitment to the post of Project Technical Support-III in the Microbiology Department. The position is purely contractual and is co-terminus with the MIGRATED ICMR project. The selection is via a walk-in interview at the BMCRI Director and Dean's office in Bengaluru on 04 May 2026 at 12:00 noon. Karnataka State Government rules apply throughout the engagement.

Educational Qualification
- Three-year Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject or field (Life Sciences).
- BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) / Biotechnology / Any other Life Sciences from a recognised university.
Desirable Qualification
- 3 years' experience of postgraduation in the relevant subject or field.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or a related ICMR-style research project.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 35 years
- Age is calculated as on the last date for receipt of applications (29 April 2026).
- Age relaxation is as per Government of Karnataka rules for reserved categories.
Salary
- Basic Pay: Rs. 28,000 per month
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): Rs. 8,400 per month (30% of basic)
- Total Monthly Salary: Rs. 36,400
- The position is contract-based and is co-terminus with the MIGRATED Project funding period.
Selection Process
- Application Screening: The Director and Dean's office will shortlist candidates based on qualification and age.
- Walk-in Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear in person at the BMCRI campus on the scheduled date.
- Document Verification: Original mark sheets, ID proof, and address proof are checked at the time of interview.
- Final Selection: Based on interview performance and matching of qualification with the MIGRATED Project requirement.
No Written Exam. Selection is purely through walk-in interview.

Responsibilities
- Handle laboratory bench work for the MIGRATED ICMR project in the Department of Microbiology, BMCRI.
- Process clinical samples, set up cultures, and run molecular biology assays as per project SOPs.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, sample logs, reagent stocks, and quality control data.
- Assist Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator in data collection, entry, and basic statistical analysis.
- Follow biosafety, infection control, and ICMR research ethics guidelines at all times.
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and consumables used in the project.
- Prepare monthly progress reports and contribute to drafts of project deliverables and manuscripts.
- Coordinate with field staff, hospital wards, and clinical teams for sample collection and follow-up.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Three-year Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject / field; BSc in MLT / Biotechnology / Any other Life Sciences from a recognised university.
Preferred Qualification
Three years of experience of postgraduation in the relevant subject or field. Hands-on lab experience in microbiology or molecular biology.
Required Skills
Laboratory bench techniques, molecular biology assays, sample processing, lab record keeping, biosafety practices, basic data analysis, MS Office.

18 - 35 years (as on 29 Apr 2026)

Pay Scale
Rs. 28,000 basic + 30% HRA (Rs. 8,400) = Rs. 36,400 per month (consolidated)
