Bengaluru Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) is hiring 1 Project Technical Support-III on a contractual basis for the ICMR-funded MIGRATED Project in the Department of Microbiology. BMCRI Project Technical Support-III Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

BMCRI has issued Notification No. BMCRI/Project/49/2025-2026 for direct recruitment to the post of Project Technical Support-III in the Microbiology Department. The position is purely contractual and is co-terminus with the MIGRATED ICMR project. The selection is via a walk-in interview at the BMCRI Director and Dean's office in Bengaluru on 04 May 2026 at 12:00 noon. Karnataka State Government rules apply throughout the engagement.

Educational Qualification

  • Three-year Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject or field (Life Sciences).
  • BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) / Biotechnology / Any other Life Sciences from a recognised university.

  • 3 years' experience of postgraduation in the relevant subject or field.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or a related ICMR-style research project.

Salary

  • Basic Pay: Rs. 28,000 per month
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA): Rs. 8,400 per month (30% of basic)

  • The position is contract-based and is co-terminus with the MIGRATED Project funding period.

Selection Process

Responsibilities

  • Handle laboratory bench work for the MIGRATED ICMR project in the Department of Microbiology, BMCRI.
  • Process clinical samples, set up cultures, and run molecular biology assays as per project SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, sample logs, reagent stocks, and quality control data.
  • Assist Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator in data collection, entry, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Follow biosafety, infection control, and ICMR research ethics guidelines at all times.
  • Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and consumables used in the project.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and contribute to drafts of project deliverables and manuscripts.
  • Coordinate with field staff, hospital wards, and clinical teams for sample collection and follow-up.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Three-year Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject / field; BSc in MLT / Biotechnology / Any other Life Sciences from a recognised university.

Preferred Qualification

Three years of experience of postgraduation in the relevant subject or field. Hands-on lab experience in microbiology or molecular biology.

Required Skills

Laboratory bench techniques, molecular biology assays, sample processing, lab record keeping, biosafety practices, basic data analysis, MS Office.
