The Office of the District Judge, Bhadrak has released an advertisement to fill 34 Group-C posts in the district judiciary under the Odisha Group-C & Group-D posts (Contractual Appointment) Rules, 2013. The appointments are subject to the outcome of a pending writ petition before the Orissa High Court. Graduates with computer knowledge and Odia language proficiency from anywhere in Odisha are eligible to apply for these court staff posts.

Seats are reserved for ST, SC, SEBC and UR categories as per Odisha Government norms, with horizontal reservation for women, PWD, Ex-servicemen and sports persons within each category.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You must have passed at least a +3 (Bachelor's) degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Computer Skills: You need a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institute.
- Typing Speed (Junior Typist): You must type at least 40 words per minute in English.
- Typing & Shorthand (Stenographer Grade-III): You need 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in English typing.
- Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and pass a test in Odia equivalent to the M.E. Standard.
- Other: You must be a citizen of India, of good character and sound health, and registered with an Employment Exchange.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 42 years old as on 28 August 2026.
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed for ST/SC/SEBC/PwD/Ex-servicemen/Sports Person candidates as per Odisha Government rules.
Salary
- Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist & Junior Typist: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (Level-4 of ORSP Rules, 2017).
- Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month (Level-7 of ORSP Rules, 2017).
- Salaried Amin: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (Level-5 of ORSP Rules, 2017).
- You will also get D.A. and other allowances as admissible under Government of Odisha rules.
Selection Process
For the post of Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, selection happens in these stages:
- Written Exam: Covers English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hour) and General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hour). You need at least 35% marks in each paper to qualify.
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour. Qualifying candidates are shortlisted up to 10 times the vacancy in each category. The cut-off is 50% for general candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates.
- Viva-Voce Test: 45 marks.
Stenographer Grade-III, Junior Typist and Salaried Amin posts follow a similar written test and skill/typing test structure relevant to each post.

Responsibilities
- Handle case filing, record-keeping and copying of court documents (Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist)
- Take dictation and prepare typed correspondence and court orders (Stenographer)

- Carry out field verification, measurement and valuation of properties as directed (Amin)
- Maintain registers, case diaries and court records
- Assist judicial officers and court staff with day-to-day administrative work
- Follow court procedures, confidentiality rules and Odisha Government service rules
