Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navaratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence and one of India's leading professional electronics companies, is looking for a qualified legal professional to join its Central Manufacturing Services Division at the Bengaluru Complex.   • Experience: You need 4 to 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience as on 01.03.2026 in areas like customs clearance at airports and seaports, goods classification and duty rate determination, foreign trade policy, free trade agreements, EPCG and advance authorizations, and drafting legal documents for courts and tribunals including Customs Appellate Authority.
  • Additional Skills: Exposure to SAP/ERP is desirable. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

Selection Process

  • Handle customs clearance procedures at airports and seaports, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Classify goods accurately under the correct HSN codes to determine the right duty rates for imports and exports.
  • Provide guidance on foreign trade policy, free trade agreements, EPCG, and advance authorization matters to the manufacturing divisions.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents including show cause notices, replies, appeals, and cross objections for courts, tribunals, and the Customs Appellate Authority.
  • Appear before courts, tribunals, and authorities including anti-dumping and advance ruling bodies for legal arguments and representation.
  • Advise on customs duty, valuation, tax applicability, and compliance with relevant tax benefits and exemptions.
  • Prepare customized compliance manuals on customs and foreign trade policy for the organization.
  • Conduct reviews of business operations to identify tax planning opportunities and compliance gaps.
