These posts are open only to serving employees of the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Organizations or Public Sector Undertakings — this is not a fresh-graduate recruitment drive. The last date to submit your application is 20 July 2026, and the age limit for all four posts is up to 56 years as on the closing date. Pay ranges from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month depending on the post and pay level.

ANIIMS Recruitment 2026 - 9 Posts on Deputation

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), located at Sri Vijaya Puram, has issued a vacancy notice dated 12 June 2026 to fill 9 posts across four categories under the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Research Society. These are deputation appointments for an initial period of 2 years, extendable in line with instructions from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). Who Can Apply?

This is a deputation-only recruitment — you must already be a government employee to apply. Fresh graduates and private-sector candidates are not eligible.

For Librarian (Pay Level 10, Rs. 56,100-1,77,500):

  • Qualification: You need an M.Sc. Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized university or institute, plus a degree or diploma in computers from a recognized institute. Alternatively, you can qualify with 5 years' experience in a library of a reputed institution, preferably a medical college.
  • Desirable: An M.Phil or Ph.D in Library Science/Information Science and Documentation, along with one year of professional experience in indexing health services literature, will count in your favour.
  • Deputation route: You should be holding an analogous post on a regular basis in a Central/State Government department, university, statutory/autonomous body, or R&D organisation. Alternatively, you can apply with 2 years of regular service in Pay Level 9 (Rs. 53,100-1,67,800), or 4 years of regular service in Pay Level 8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100).

For Office Superintendent and Head Clerk (Pay Level 6, Rs. 35,400-1,12,400):

  • You must be an officer of the Central Government, State Government or UT Administration, holding an equivalent post on a regular basis in your parent cadre or department, either by promotion or deputation.

For Higher Grade Clerk (Pay Level 4, Rs. 25,500-81,100):

  • You should currently be working as a Lower Grade Clerk in Pay Level 2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200) or an equivalent post, with 8 years of regular service in that grade.

Age Limit

  • You should not be above 56 years of age as on the closing date of receipt of applications, for all four posts.

Salary

  • Librarian: Pay Level 10 — Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month
  • Office Superintendent & Head Clerk: Pay Level 6 — Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month
  • Higher Grade Clerk: Pay Level 4 — Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month
  • On deputation, you can choose to draw your pay in your parent cadre plus Deputation (Duty) Allowance, or have your pay fixed in the new post — whichever option you prefer, as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process

Since this is a deputation vacancy, there is no written exam. Selection happens through:

  1. Application Screening: ANIIMS reviews your bio-data, service record, pay level and eligibility documents against the requirements for each post.
  2. Document Verification: You need to submit your Vigilance Clearance Certificate, Cadre Clearance Certificate, Integrity Certificate, copies of your APARs (Annual Performance Appraisal Reports) for the last 5 years, a statement of any major or minor penalties in the last 10 years, and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your cadre-controlling authority.

Responsibilities

  • Handle daily administrative, clerical and correspondence work of the department
  • Maintain and catalogue library books, journals and digital resources
  • Process service records, files and official documentation accurately
  • Supervise junior clerical staff and coordinate day-to-day office work
  • Prepare reports, circulars, notices and other official communication
  • Assist with budget, procurement and stock/inventory management tasks
  • Ensure timely disposal of files and compliance with government office procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity while handling official records

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Serving Central/State Government, UT, university or autonomous body employee holding an equivalent post on regular basis, or with the required years of regular service in the relevant pay level. Librarian additionally needs an M.Sc. in Library Science/...
