ANH Senior Resident OBG Recruitment 2026: Overview

Ambedkar Nagar Hospital (ANH), a Government of NCT of Delhi hospital at Dakshinpuri, New Delhi, is holding walk-in interviews for a Senior Resident in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG). The post is filled on an emergent ad-hoc basis against a vacant seat, so the hospital is plugging an immediate gap rather than running a regular residency cycle.

The vacancy position can change without notice and depends on what is actually vacant on the interview day. The drive suits OBG postgraduates registered with the Delhi Medical Council who have not yet finished three years of senior residency.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The first term is 89 days, extendable by another 89 days after a one-day break on your written request, recommended by the HOD or MO In-charge — or until a regular appointee joins, whichever comes first.
• Three-year cap: Total senior residency cannot go beyond three years, and any SR service you already did in a government hospital or autonomous body counts towards it. You give an undertaking about this with your acceptance letter.
• Reserved-category fallback: If no suitable SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidate turns up, a General category doctor may be appointed for 44 days, or until a regular candidate of that category joins.
• Relieving order: If you are working elsewhere, you must bring a relieving order from that hospital before you can join.
• No private practice: Private practice of any kind is banned, and you cannot work as SR in another hospital at the same time. A breach means termination and possible DMC action against your registration.
• OBC certificate: It must be issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi, with a non-creamy layer certificate for the current financial year.
• Leave and absence: You earn 2.5 days of paid leave per month. Unauthorised absence of more than seven days ends the appointment, and no pay is given for absence, including strikes.
• Notice period: You must give seven days' notice to resign, or pay seven days' salary instead.
• Emergency duty and training: You may be posted to the Accident and Emergency Department as patient care demands, and you must attend a compulsory Bio-Medical Waste Management training.
• Relaxed norms: If fresh candidates are not available, doctors who have already completed three years of SR can be interviewed on a separate merit list. That list is used only after the fresh list runs out, and such appointments last one year with no renewal.

Application Submission Notes

There is no form to post. Walk in to the Admin Office, 4th Floor, Ambedkar Nagar Hospital, Block-B, Sector-5, Dakshinpuri, New Delhi 110062 on any interview day with all original certificates, a set of self-attested copies and one passport-size photograph.

Registration runs from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on each interview day. The desk closes at 11:00 AM sharp and nobody is registered after that.
