AIIMS Patna Senior Resident (Non-Academic) Recruitment 2026 — 75 Posts

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has announced recruitment for 75 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) posts on an ad-hoc basis for a period of 89 days. These vacancies are spread across 25 departments including General Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Ophthalmology, and more. No written exam is required — selection is entirely through walk-in interview. Doctors who have completed their PG degree (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent) from a recognised institution can directly walk in for the interview.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Post Graduate Degree — MD / MS / DNB / DM / M.Ch or equivalent in the relevant department, recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) / NMC / NBE.
• For Clinical Haematology: Candidates with MD in General Medicine and MD in Paediatrics will also be considered.
• Important: Those who have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency (Academic i.e. DM/MCh/PDF or Non-Academic) are not eligible to apply.
• Qualification/Experience: Will be counted as on the date of walk-in interview.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years (as on the date of walk-in interview).
• Age Relaxation:
• SC / ST: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: 5 years

Note: SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates applying for unreserved vacancies will not get age relaxation.

Salary

• Pay: Rs. 67,700 per month (Level 11 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) as admissible
• Plus DA, HRA, and other usual allowances as per Central Government rules

This is an ad-hoc appointment for 89 days.

• The fee is non-refundable. No other mode of payment (cash, cheque, money order, etc.) will be accepted.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is entirely through Walk-in Interview. There is no written examination.

1. Walk-in Interview: You need to appear in person with all original documents and self-attested copies on the scheduled date for your department.
2. Document Verification: Your documents will be verified on the spot during the walk-in.
3. Medical Examination: Selected candidates will be subject to medical fitness check by the Medical Board at AIIMS Patna.

In case of a tie (same marks), the older candidate (earlier date of birth) will be ranked higher.

How to Apply

This is a Walk-in Interview. There is no online application. You need to appear in person.

2. Get a Demand Draft for the application fee (Rs. 1,500 for General/OBC or Rs. 1,200 for SC/ST/EWS) drawn in favour of AIIMS, Patna.
3. Bring the filled application form along with original documents and one set of self-attested copies.
4. Report at 09:00 AM at E-classroom, Administrative Building, AIIMS Patna on your scheduled date.
5. Walk-in Interview will be held from 10:00 AM onwards at Committee Room, Administrative Building, AIIMS Patna.

• Handle patient care duties in the assigned department under supervision of faculty
• Assist senior faculty during OPD, ward rounds, surgeries, and emergency procedures
• Keep accurate records of patient treatment, investigations, and discharge summaries
• Work in rotating shifts including night duties and emergency calls as assigned
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control guidelines, and safety standards
• Manage beds, referrals, and coordinate with other departments for patient care
• Prepare case presentations and participate in academic activities of the department
